does anyone have cream cabinets with oil rubbed bronze hardware
Comments (16)Hi Amberley, Thanks for the compliment! My marble is Calacutta Vagli and my cabinets are from Quality Custom Cabinetry. The color was chosen in the shop I ordered it from, but my contractor made so many nicks in the cabs after they were installed that we went through 2 more coats of paint and I am not sure of the color they used. I should ask. They were trying to match the original color. Yes, the hardward is from Top Knobs Tuscany collection-good eye! I have a pallete of cream and grey/blue with copper accents going on in the kitchen. If you look up Stiles at the bottom of the page you will see a thread where you can see some of my pics on photoshop. I will try to get you a close-up of the knobs soon. Are you in the middle or just beginning your remodel? Have fun! Melinda...See MoreFinished Kitchen Cream & Blue Cabinets '80s ranch refresh pics
Comments (54)kimmieb - What an extremely thoughtful, resourceful and inspiring "refresh" - I am sure you will like it more than you would the 100K kitchen (I do :) because you did it yourself, worked with what you had and made it your own. Not to mention that you used an incredibly fabulous and relaxing color in the kitchen. I say... gray-blue, blue-gray, gray-blue, a little green-gray and maybe something slightly purple-blue-gray - that is where my brain lives these days. My old place was more yellow/beige and fresh greens/blue-greens. I had to fight myself to not make our current place blue-gray inside and out but needed other colors - if only to complement/accent more blue-gray :) It is amazing how color preferences can shift. Believe it or not my horizon's actually expended after many hours on the kitchen and home decorating forum. I even painted a bathroom tomato red! I hope your kitchen inspires more beautiful colorful painted kitchens....See MoreFaucet and sink combo for a Plain English inspired kitchen revamp
Comments (57)I splurged and went with the brass. The wait won't be that big of a deal since everything else is so behind schedule anyway! Next round of questions: Should I do a small backsplash in butcher block? Our countertops will be exclusively butcher block and the backsplash white shiplap. I quite like the look of the wood back splashes in the DeVol and Plain English kitchens shown here. Yay or nay? If you like them, how tall and how thick should they be? Also in this one photo attached the backsplash is installed behind the counter rather than on top which is how I'd imagine doing it. Any idea which is preferable? I was going to do IKEA solid oak counters but have accepted that it really can't be a DIY job since I chose an undermount sink with curved corners and don't have the skill to confidently make that cut. We'll spend a bit more on having them and and finished, ready to install. I'm leaning toward Eastern Maple because it's hard and quite pale. That's a better choice than very old reclaimed fir I'd imagine, even if it has a cool backstory....See MoreNewport brass finish options: no swatches! + your exp with NB ?!
Comments (16)@Sabrina Alfin I definitely had in interest in Brizo at the start, but didnt like that they only have 1 finish of gold/brass I like the one you have pictured in the kitchen for my design, we are doing just a new sink setup. appliances are stainless to match viking stove. no paneling since over our budget. i LOVE waterstone, i dont know if thats the same waterworks - but over my budget major! im terrified of the NB horror stories… i dont want to have a leak problem. my cabinets are real wood...See MoreJill Hilts
