Selecting a Pool Finish

Looking for the sweet spot: durability, smooth texture, and affordability (I know, who isn't?). Our Pool contractor has suggested Wet Edge Luna Quartz - seems to be fairly smooth and a decent price point, but suffers in durability.

Interested in reviews and views: Should we consider Wet Edge Signature Matrix vs Prism vs Primera Stone (which is smooth and durable but kills the budget)?

What about Hydrazzo Basic, Classico, or Pacifico? How do these products compare?

Are there other finishing products we should consider?

@mojarashe we were planning on the Luna Quartz, but realized by the end of our pool build that we didn't want to take any chances with the durability of the finish. Basically, we were ready to move on to the next house project and not potentially revisit this one sooner than needed.

We upgraded to the Primera Stone and have no regrets. The finish is completely smooth, the color is great, and we are confident that it will outlast the number of years we will be in this house. The price was expensive, but we're glad we did it.

We used Wet Edge Lapis Blue, which is in the Prism Matrix line. It is not completely smooth flat, but the pebbles are smooth. We do love it and have had no problems but it's only 1.5 years old. The cost difference for the Primera was not worth it for me and the installer did not recommend it enough to justify. I also based my decision on the color choice I loved best.

I will say that I, and I alone, get irritation on the back of my thighs if I sit in the hot tub long. The wet edge folks came out and sanded? the hot tub benches to a smoother surface but I still get irritation, so I don't know if it's the finish or me. Nobody else has ever had the problem so it may just be me.

Coming up with salt tolerant plants is easy, but salt tolerant tropicalesque plants would require a little research. You might be able to get a quick answer from people in the Tropicalesque Gardens Forum if no one speaks up here. I've never bought any sod. Hi Markbr, Here are my 2 cents: 1. What Filter would you recommend for this. Go with a Pentair Clean & Clear cartridge filter. Easy to maintain and keeps the water crystal clear. 2. What pump would you recommend Go with a Pentair IntelliFlo VS (variable speed). I would also recommend an EasyTouch 4P or 8P (single body system right)? You will get the best interop between the EasyTouch and IntelliFlo. 3. Which Salt water system If you get an EasyTouch, get one with an IC40 salt cell (good for up to 40,000 gallon pools). This way you can use the EasyTouch to control the salt cell. 4. Which brand Heat pump and what size BTU. Haven't had much experience with Pentair ThermalFlo heat pumps but I hear good things about them. 5. Which cleaning robot, I would prefer one I didn't have to connect to tubing, just something I can throw in without work. I personally use the Pentair Prowler cleaner and like it very much. Easy to use and clean. 6. Which Skimmer to buy Admiral S200 with circular weir is my favorite. 7. Which return jets Not sure. 8. Which lights Do you want color or white?

You're talking about the DECK? Or the POOL interior? If it's the pool interior, I definitely prefer the Pebbletek in the second photos, and disagree with the 'looking dirty' comments. (Had one - loved it!) But if it's the deck, I strongly prefer the first -- but with reservations. There's GREAT textured concrete that looks almost exactly like natural stone, GOOD textured concrete that looks like good concrete, and SCARY-BAD textured concrete that looks like faux something. IMO, there are few things worse than BAD textured concrete, and for top coats, much more often than not, that's what you get. It's the 'surface texture' where most of these coatings seem to fall VERY short, so I would absolutely NOT buy from a photo without inspecting an actual installation in person.

Trouble selecting a vinyl pool liner

Our pool contractor uses Latham pool liners. I'm interested in a few colors but I can't find any pictures of them. I want the water to be teal. Does anyone have pictures of the "reef" or "crystal" liners?

Many thanks to Pooltime and Justcallmepool for sharing your decisions and experiences with the wetedgetech surfaces. We're reeling at the cost differential our Pool Contractor has quoted for Serenity and Prism Matrix upgrades. I need to re-do a bathroom with that money! :-) From the cost perspective because we have other home repairs and maintenace to get to I think Primera Stone, while preferred, is outside our budget-range. We're going to return to the Showroom to look at the Prism Matrix samples again on Monday.

If there is anyone out there with Hydrazzo experience or reviews, please let me know!
