Hmmm I didn't even think of the outside look. Well, it's the only window on that wall and you can't see any other windows so outside is not an issue, but that was a good point I didnt think about! It is a two story house. Oh and the cabinets go all the way to the ceiling on both sides and there are no other windows on that wall so I think it's okay. I have to decide by tomorrow morning at 8am when they start framing so I am SOOOO EXCITED you guys answered so quickly. :) Thank you! I really want my big window and I think it will look so pretty. Have you looked at the window treatment ideas thread? I've posted some pics of window treatments that might be helpful. First, you don't need panels at all. The windows look fine as is. However if you want some treatment, you can consider valance only. You can also do dummy side panels, and as I said, they should be at least double the width that they will hang. In this case, I would treat the 2 windows the same but separately. So I d run a decorative rod across the top of each window in line with the top of the shade valance and I'd have the rods stick out about 12" beyond each window. I would order panels at least 30" wide so they can stack back and skim the edges of the windows. I don't know what the decorator means by no pleats...what style did she have in mind? Grommets? Gathered?

Camouflage with a valance from the ceiling to the top of the shorter window, and from the ceiling to the same point on the taller window. Someone must have made good use of some group of windows at a Building Warehouse, or the like? Easy enough to solve, if you don't mind giving up the view atop the window. The other idea, I have always wanted to use, is to install a mirror atop the shorter window from the ceiling up. It might give you the option of enjoying the taller view of the window that way. Not knowing what the cost is, mirror tiles might even work above the shorter window. Think about other ways, go to a pawn shop or 2nd hand furniture store and see if you can purchase some former wall mirrors or dresser mirrors and get a glass cutter and make your own tiles. If you are not concerned about the mirror being a shiney new finish one, this might work nicely for you? Likely a glass company could cut and install one mirror to fit in that space however in a quicker time span..

I just did most of my house in Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee. I think that's the brand studio McGee used in her photo above? It's so popular at Dunn Edwards that they have cans on the shelf that are pre-mixed and ready to go. Anyhow. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Swiss Coffee. I seriously sampled 10 whites on posterboard and ordered a around 15 of the most popular warm whites on those pre-painted Samplize swatches that have sticky on the back. That service is awesome. Swiss Coffee is a perfect warm white that isn't too yellow or pink or green in low light. We did ceilings and walls all the same color to speed up the process (NO EDGEWORK at the ceiling!!) and it looks great! Once we get baseboards in I think I'll just do a semigloss in the same color.
