that is so cool. I love what you did with the folding ruler. I have so many of them broken in a box some where. I started making the Christmas trees out of jewelry after listening here about it. I will have to try one of these wreaths. I have been watching you guys for about 2 years now. I have so much stuff from flea markets that I could create all year. You inspire me to do stuff with the old junk. I have the tree I made up on my facebook page. I wonder if I can post it here. I will try. I am new to posting here so I am not sure how it works. That DOES bring back memories ! I made basically the same things when I was little - only I used green tissue paper cut in strips and gathered. I glued old sequins on for the ornaments . AAAhhhhh ........ those were the days ! :-)

We used to use fishing line in our old house and it worked great. Since we've moved we now live in a "wind" zone because we have 30 acres of open fields on one side and water on two other sides so the winds here are ferocious. We bought curtain tension rods, the inexpensive white ones used for cafe curtains. We ran them through the top (from side to side on the back) of the wreath where the wire frame is on each wreath. Then line up the white rod you would see on either side coming out from behind the wreath with the white of your window mullion. It's hard to describe but it works really well. We've had driving rain and wind gusts up to 40 or 50 mph and they have still held up just fine. Here are two pictures to show you what we did. If you line the rod up with a mullion or a part of your window that is white, you don't see the rods at all, from either the inside or the outside. This isn't perfectly lined up with the mullion and the pic is from an angle but you can get an idea of how the rod blends in with the window, assuming your windows are white. You could spray paint the rods if your trim is a different color. Good luck! Kat :)

Thanks all. Here is the reverse side where I went crazy with the glue gun. Each look about the same. I did tuck in a sprig of fresh cedar at the bottom. The cones are real but the pine and berry tip is artificial. re the candles - unfortunately they are not on timers so I have to reach in to turn on and off. The package says they burn for 250 hours on two AA batteries. I won't turn them on until dark and then off before bed. On Christmas Eve I usually let my tree lights on over night and probably will do so with the candles.
