Hi B. You have definitely done alot of hybridizing work! I am truely a newbie at it. I have had little experience with grapes. We had a beautiful arbor here which was destroyed on the Inagural Day Storm..the year Mr. Clinton was sworn in. Probably the worst windstorm in modern history for our area. The arbor had table grapes..a red, a purple and a white. Of those, we have kept one, but use it more as an ornamental, keeping the vines quite short. However on the south side of the house, we have a Lemberger grape given to us by a commercial grower of wine grapes in Prosser, WA. The wines made from this grape are very good, but we just grow it as an ornament on a trellis. It actually yields quite well, but it has alot of seed so we don't eat or juice it. I don't know much about growing/propagating vitis, but if you would like some cuttings I'd be happy to send some. It does suffer from mildew as the weather gets hotter in August/Sept. We trim out leaves to give it more air, etc. It is a lovely leaf. Your work in attempting to breed a disease resistant vitis is very appealing! It would be a huge, and important advance for viticulture. I would love to work with columbines to try and develop a variety with some resistence to leaf miner. There is a species Columbine that has shown some resistence to the pest, but I have yet to fine a source of the seed. They don't hurt the plants, so they say, but they certainly do blemish the otherwise beautiful leaves. Do you have a system of record keeping for your hybridizing work? I assume you do. I'm wondering if you could post it? I have notes scattered all over the place, and really do need a system! Great to hear from you. Keep us posted. Update on our front. We finally got the builder to finialize the spec/cost sheet to fit our budget. He was estimating some things way to high since this is a custom build and the first time he is doing this home. We were pre-approved on our loan so I took the final plans, spec sheet, cost sheet and signed contract to the bank yesterday. They will be starting the appraisal process now and it may take 2 weeks. They did throw a curveball our way though. They want us to have our well water tested prior to closing on our construction plus loan. That would be great it there was electricity to the well, but we had'nt had the new powerlines run yet. So I call my well digger and he said that he would take care of it for us, but he'll have to do a flush and put clorox down it first to make sure there is no bacteria since we had the well drilled 2-1/2 years ago. That's how long this house building process has taken us to get to this point. So hopefully the water test won't take long and we'll be able to truck right along. Prayers would be welcomed! With all that we're not even sure when we will break ground and our lease will be up the end of December and the cost to go month to month is crazy. So we may have to move in with my MIL which I don't think I can handle for very long. Our builder said 4 months from framing to move in but we'll be in the middle of a midwest winter so who knows how many weather delays we'll have. Everyones build and process is looking great and I can't wait to show our progress pictures soon I hope :)

Omgosh Steve ..I'm sorry I have no idea how I missed this notification... but that is just absolutely amazing .. they're so so beautiful and nice bug caudexs on those babies ..big caudexs r my fave☺️ Lol sounds a little badBut they are ..if you ever wanna sell any please keep me in mind, seriously! Lol Please keep us all updated on your adenium FARM lol I'd love to see a pic of you being swallowed up by them once they're inside lololol wow what a boatload but I honestly would be loving every minute of it, congrats to you my friend as they look so healthy... an angel on this forum who is also in Texas just sold and sent me a couple large ones witch I adore and some seeds(hence me trying to grow them;)but it's so hard for me to get them here, I ordered online and got two that were completely taken over by rot(so I learned my lesson about buying from amazon for live adeniums :( but I'm always on the lookout if your ever looking to part with a couple :) anyways Steve thanks for the excellent tips and for sharing your amazing broad with me.. here's my email if ur ever looking to part with any lol no pressure!
