Check all the pieces from Coretec before installation! We had a Palo Alto Walnut Coretec floor installed in August. As they were getting ready to install the T-moulding I realized the color was off. Also it was supposed to be skimmed in the same pattern as the planking but wasn't. They didn't install it. The quarter round was also off but similar enough in color that we agreed to keep it. FIVE MONTHS later Coretec informed the installer that Palo Alto Walnut is discontinued and we won't be getting the T-moulding. Back to square one. I am so frustrated. My guess is that they are outsourcing the trim pieces without telling anyone. Someone mentioned that Shaw bought Coretec.

@Alan Ward I also noticed the Max is 8mm thickness and heavier, while rigid is 5.5 mm thick. Not sure how that affects things. @kaycreighton1 thank you! Initially we were just looking at Max. the stairs themselves we are carpeting and thankfully the hallway/loft upstairs is mainly above the garage, so not TOO worried about a lot of noise. From what I've read Max is still more soundproof than Rigid as well right?

I have seen the Kona beach in person, I think it’s beautiful but my husband is unsure of it- he thinks it doesn’t have enough texture. It’s microbevel so you can barely see the lines in between each plank, I like that but he thinks it makes it look “cheap” and less wood like. I just love the colors though and how soft it is. I’ve narrowed it down to either Audra Kona beach or Karndean Texas White Ash. I’m leaning toward Karndean but I haven’t seen a full size sample yet.
