Comments (10)I've been using Maybelline eye makeup remover. It's a little oily, but I wash my face afterwards and it does a good job getting the mascara off. I really like Mary Kay extremely gentle eye makeup remover a LOT better- not oily at all- but I lost my MK rep and need a new one, hence the Maybelline....See MoreWhat do you use to remove makeup?
Comments (12)Ponds cold cream is mostly emulsified mineral oil if I'm not mistaken. Mineral oil is the same thing used to make vaseline. The oil is not water soluable so that's what's leaving the ring. I'd be also worried that it's getting into your clothes and could leave a grease stain! I personally like using the premoistened wipes...you can get the Pond's ones, they are a bit better than generic ones. Pond's are more consistant with their moisture than the generic Equate ones. They don't remove waterproof eye makeup though. You could use the cold cream with a tissue for that. Or just use a waterproof eye makeup remover like the Neutrogena one with a cotton square. Really and truely, cold cream is mostly mineral oil so you could actually just use mineral oil with a soaked cotton ball or whatever to apply it. It will do the same job and much cheaper. Remember that mineral oil is a petrolium product. Maybe using something like olive oil to remove you make up will be a healthier choice. I like the wipes because they are "no muss no fuss"!...See MoreFavorite eye make-up remover
Comments (23)Jasdip Not an eyewash in the sense that you would flush your eyes with it. I should have said eyelid scrub. The procedure is to dilute a few drops of Baby Shampoo with warm water and do a light scrub of the inner rim of the eye with a cotton swap or pad. I found it got rid of all make-up residue so I just wet my fingertips and use a few drops of baby shampoo for removing my make-up just as you would any water soluble eye makeup remover. The link explains it if you scroll down to the bottom of the page and read the self care procedure. You are correct about oils around the eye. The oils can plug up the area leading to inflamed itchy eyes. Here is a link that might be useful: Baby Shampoo for Eyes...See MoreMascara Question......racoon eyes
Comments (20)I'd try waterproof masacara, or even a different brand with stronger staying power. Great Lash comes off rather easily. You should find the waterproof types of mascara stay on a lot better... only problem is you will need to find a really good eye makeup remover. Does your mascara come off if you use your eye creams as removers? I'm guessing with Great Lash, yes. Great Lash makes great Lashes but it comes off with ease... too much ease for some people. With your creams (even just your natural oils), etc... you are more or less "using" an eye make up remover of sorts so when your eyes blink the masacara is coming off and staying under your eye. If you use a waterproof type, it usually takes a lot more to get the mascara off so it shouldn't come off so easily and create the racoon eyes. My best friend used to use Great Lash and by the end of the night her eyes seriously looked ridiculous. All the mascara was off her lashes and under her eyes... I'm like "Can't you see yourself. Try a different masacara"!...See Morewildchild2x2
