Sue Finally Tries PT for Her Spine

Going for a record in procrastination here:

You all urged me to do what the neurosurgeon prescribed four months ago. Yesterday I finally had my first visit. I'm encouraged -- but darn sore today from the resistance tests at the assessment. I'm to go twice a week and currently have three exercises to do daily at home.

My spine is twisted, with an upper right portion pushing back and right, and a lower left portion pushing forward and to the left. The pain is in the lumbar portion at what I'd call the fulcrum of the 'bend'. I also have spinal stenosis (why I've shrunk two inches). For a gruesome look at women with much worse scoliosis, look up "Schroth Method" -- a therapy designed in the late 1800's in Germany.

A little of my delay has been finding a qualified therapist. People on my neighborhood group recommended various local places, including chains like Athletico, for PT, but most do not work on spinal issues, including the PT offered at our local hospital, so I'll have to drive half an hour for this.

And how did I develop this condition? I'm pretty sure the cause is in front of me at this very moment: Computer use without a good desk and chair. Time to change THAT!
