It's really impossible to select a materials and finishes palette online in a setting like this forum. All people can do is tell you what they personally preferred to use and/or post photos. Annie's house, above, is a good example of how exteriors may be harmoniously developed, but she has not used the colors for roof and garage doors you have identified. Your best course of action is to request that the builder bring to the job site large samples of all exterior materials and finishes so that you can see them all together in sufficient size and in the natural daylight and shadow for which they will actually be seen. Your goal should be to see and evaluate all the materials together (as they will be seen on the house) and in the normal lighting in which they will seen. One should never pick these materials and finishes while indoors at home or in a paint store! A final thought about your choices: black roofing and white trim/doors will set up a strong contrast (darkest dark with lightest light), influencing and limiting your other choices to achieve overall harmony with these two colors. If you carefully study Annnie's house you will see she chose warmer, less contrasty beiges, browns,gray-browns, etc . When it comes to materials, colors and finishes, everyone has their own personal taste and preferences (including combinations they abhor). So, take your time and experiment with various combinations on the job site until you find what is most pleasing to you. Good luck on your project!

Charming project. I would not be adding but perhaps subtracting to get back to the original house. Not sure the shed awning was original but it looks sad and I would remove it before I considered adding anything to this home. Also cut back all the over grown shrubs so you see what you have to work with. If you have to replace the siding continue with a vertical element to balance the low slung look of the home. However I like the 'dog' ear' scallop detail so I would recommend continuing with what you have. It fits the house. Unless there is something unusual happening inside your home is not MCM but simply a ranch home with some cottage details..

Ha, ha. Aluminum siding really is wonderful. The only reason we painted ours was because it was a horrible color, that fake redwood color. So very dated even 20 years ago. You should probably power wash the siding. Once the shutters are down, I'm sure their prior location will be noticeable since it will have no dirt underneath except for those bugs who have built their home there over the years (at least ours did). We were told that the only reason to replace aluminum siding was if the wood underneath was rotten due to water damage. If you don't have any leaking from your gutters, you are probably okay. If you ever do replace it, take it to a scrap yard for $$.

No “brows”, I would eliminate the gables on the porch and the garage hip roof thing. It doesn’t go with the farmhouse look. See inspo pic 2. I like wide board and batten. That whole garage side looks a hot mess and detracts from the main house. I would rotate that wing 90 degrees for side entry garage and have that bulk be on the side elevation, not the front. Again see inspo pic 2
