Marleah - I also grow all 3 and they are distinct: 1. Crocus Rose is not yellow, it is apricot/buff fading to cream. Like Carrie Jo says, it starts out tight and opens flat, sometimes with a green pointel. It always blooms in clusters. Foliage is small and glossy. Growth upright, never needs staking. 2. Charlotte is medium yellow, very cupped and much more double than Graham Thomas - you never see the stamens on Charlotte. Also, the blooms last much longer on the bush than GT, which in my experience shatter (too) quickly. Growth upright, sometimes long blind shoots which need to be cut back. 3. Teasing Georgia is lighter yellow, fading to cream on the outer petals. Blooms very double and open very flat. Never doesn't need support! Hope this helps! George

I love mocking birds, they are our state bird, I live in Texas and they are fierce lol. I don't know if they leave their nest alone if their babies die but I do know that at some point they kick their babes out of the nest before they can fly because they get to big for the nest and they take care of them on the ground. I have rescued many baby mocking birds from cats and other larger birds. The momma and daddy will protect their babies as best as they can, I have found them in my garage and I usually put them in the shrubs and the parents will find them. They also teach them to fly from the ground, it's fun to watch a baby MB follow its mom all over the yard with short burst of air time until they finally take off. I am sorry something happened to your baby MB, I bet the mom and dad tried really hard to save it from that cat, and yes I think the cat did it!

I grew both Teasing Georgia and Crown Princess Margareta in Eastern Ontario, 4B. Both had a lot of winter die back and needed protection. CPM struggled and only bloomed infrequently, though she was also in a poorer site, less sun. Teasing Georgia was by far the better of the two. She would grow back from less than a foot high in late March to as much as seven feet by end of July. Her canes were also quite flexible and twined easily on a decorative obelisk where she bloomed a lot, repeatedly and often. She was also very healthy in a humid climate. I am growing CPM here in my new garden in zone 7a, Okanagan Valley. In fact it is the same plant I had in Ontario which I brought with me. I very much like her flowers form and colour. She is very vigorous and healthy here, but still only blooms in 3 or 4 flushes a season with some scattered flowers in between. Though this may be partly because she has only had two seasons in the ground here after the shock of a transcontinental move. We shall see this summer. I definitely feel that TG is Austin's best yellow climber and will be getting another plant this year to grow her again in a more clement climate. I would suggest growing grafted plants of either of these in your colder climate if you can find them. Bury the bud graft 4 inches at least. Hope this is helpful. Cheers, Rick

Thank you Nick, Dave, Helen, and Sultry for your comments regarding my David Austin order. I guess I am not sure what I will do since I am so non-confrontational. I always end up just letting things go (bad personality trait). I will admit I was disappointed they weren't willing to do anything, specially because in the last 2 years I have ordered 98 roses from them and feel like I am a loyal customer. I was only hoping to combine them to use the money for more roses, which was going to end up in their pockets anyway =) lol. Anyway I might just keep the orders I have and shop more wisely next year.
