Yes sorry for confusion. I do have three lights. I have to go back and measure but it feels like maybe 24" apart. I am estimating, but you can compare the first picture to the next ones to also get a sense of how much it changed which is a separate question (you didnt ask i realize).

I think you mean peninsula and not the island.

One directly above your head while working at the sink will cast a shadow of you onto the work area. Maybe this was a lucky mistake.

How about you hang balloons inflated to the diameter of your fixtures over the peninsula at the height they will be, and see what you think?

Do I need to put one over the sink? Is that a rule? If I wanted to fix this, I would keep the one on right where it is to avoid the cabinet next to it and then move the one on left further out and then put the middle one evenly spaced in between. That would no longer place the center pendant above the sink though. Is that odd or unwise?

Apparently I can’t read. Ten foot - I’d go with two.

The full peninsula is actually 11 feet but the eating area is 10 feet because of the cabinet on the right. I have already purchased the lights as due to supply chain issue I ordered early to make sure. We have recessed lights through out and so these are more for aesthetics. My pendants are 13" wide and so not considered very large at all. I just looked at your pictures and your kitchen came out so well (what a difference). What is the width of the pendants as yours are significantly larger than mine? thx

Ours are 24”. I just don’t know that I’d put one over the sink - although if you have overhead lighting, which you do, then perhaps having it over the sink won’t cast a shadow.

24" is huge so I can see that would lead to two on most islands/peninsulas! They are lovely. I like that you don't think I need to put one over the sink. My guess is that my arch wanted to put one over the sink and so she brought them in tightly in order to avoid the cabinet on the right. If i have more flexibility with the sink (as you imply), I would keep the one on the left where it is and then shuffle the other two so they are evenly spaced but further to the right. I wasn't sure if there was something odd about not being centered on the sink. Would that idea work, seem normal?

I think you are making a mistake putting pendants here altogether. the row of windows is the star of the show. also the Island would be the spot to put them.
