I bought 21 pieces of old Bauer pottery dinnerware for a dollar each. It has never been used...packed away. It is similar to Fiesta, bright colors. I am going to sell it on eBay by the piece.

I was just thinking about how 1 of the things I miss most these days is thrifting. Sadly still not very safe to do that where I live. I just can't take the extra risk while I'm caring for my mother.

Large eggs for 99 cents a dz. They have been averaging $1:50+ a dz. I bought 8 dz.

Nicole, the Dansk was in a box. all dinnerware was .50 per piece. i should have paid 14.50 for the 29 pieces but the cashier stopped at 15. lol i searched high and low for the rest of the set.

KSU in at $270 out at $310. CNI in at $115 out at $135, bought SHOP at $1318 and still holding but may get out today around $1540. And a few small caps that I'm long on and have done well so far . Might also get out of DOCU today that I've held since the start of the pandemic and is up 250% since.

The hot market is kind of scaring me right now. I see another pullback lurking.

Besides food I didn't buy anything to speak of but I did sell a brand new in the box crock pot in a pop up sale for $2 three weeks ago. Everyone got great deals because when I want it gone it's at giveaway prices. Free box had a 2 hp boat motor and a Strikemaster ice auger in it to name a few.

For food a kwik trip had a grand opening sale and had 49 cent/doz eggs so I bought 43 dozen to freeze dry with 8 dozen in the dryer right now. And this weekend I'm making 100 ready to eat microwave rolled up omelets for the old folks (80's and 90's) still alive in my family, they love them and passing the bargain forward.

Wow kevin9408, that's a lot of eggs -- several cases! About how long do you think your supply will last you, and do you ever buy fresh eggs before the freeze dried run out?

That's very considerate of you to make the omelets for your older relatives, I'm sure they appreciate having such an easy meal. Good job! :-)

I can't even remember the last time I've seen eggs at 49 cent. What a bargain.

@nickel_kg We go through a lot of eggs. from what it will take to make the omelets and what we can use in a month, the rest are freeze dried. We don't use the freeze dried eggs unless necessary and used a lot of them in 2020 during the pandemic.

This was an opportunity to re stock my supply for the next emergency adding to my low supply on hand. To be honest they don't taste all that great used as scrambled and best used mixed in with omelets, quiche and baking needs. The best thing for freeze drying are meats and we can't taste the difference between fresh and freeze dried.

Ok, interesting. It's very practical to have a supply on hand. And at that price, I'd guess they were getting toward their 'sell by' date and might have gone to waste if not enough people bought them. (One of my favorite grocery stores specializes in overstocked and/or almost expired food that they can sell reasonably cheap. I've got some real bargains there at times, like 25 cents for Red Mill specialty flours that normally are priced in the $3 range.)

Fancy that, discount food stores are one of my favorite places for good deals. Haven't had a problem since buying from the two I visit yet. Picked up a lot of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage for 99 cents a pound a few months ago and it wasn't expired and where I get a lot of my meats to freeze dry.

The Eggs are fresh and a grand opening promotion for a new Kwik trip convenience store in my area. They have 675 stores in a couple of states and always throw something on sale. Butter, potatoes, bacon, donuts or other items every month. I love loss leaders.

I went to a thrift shop ad bought a Tupperware vegetable keeper with an adjustsble lid vent and cute vegetable picture on it for $3

I bought a lamp like this for $12 at Goodwill. The base is not that ornate, and it was missing the big round globe. The center chimney was there and all around the base where the globe would sit, were very long prisms/crystals. I bought it for the crystals. To replace the globe would be expensive, and the lamp is not my taste, so I plan to sell the crystals and the chimney, and perhaps find a way to put a different, less fancy globe or shade on and keep it as a floor lamp.

I actually have a fixture for the kitchen, and removable tiles for the fireplace, that are getting me to where I'm going to sell my house. I aim to sell it all and buy a paid-off place. Trust me. Less than $500, and it's loads better.

A paid off house is very freeing. ☺ Are you selling soon? Staying close by?

Probably not for another 18 to 24 months. My realtor knows my objective is to sell when my house is high enough to buy something that will be paid off. It'll be downsizing, because my child won't be living with me, but in a more expensive part of Nashville.

I aim to move close to where I work, where I've lived before. It's close to anything that I want and need, has good public transportation, and it looks like a be an easy place to live while retired. You know, when I can no longer drive. 😉
