Do you have any furniture in the room besides what’s shown?

I think the room looks kind of too fancy for shiplap -- due to the very nice tray ceiling. and overall too busy. maybe a simple wainscotting instead?

Since you have an offset tray ceiling, I think I would not want to compete with that.

I would do a nice photo gallery cluster or very large series of prints. Center it on the tray, not the wall. I would slide the left table over to the edge of the tray and get a low table or platform for the peace lily so it is more visible.

You need some scale.

I agree that the feature ceiling has the focus: what about ceiling paint, and wallpaper isn't unheard of...

can the 2 blues be pushed together to make 1, why not, if you want that is... and as was already said: large canvas art.

Do one larger console like bev sez. If you want to accent a wall, do the “backsplash” part of the bar. It looks plain and naked.

For a little more context, this is the wider space…I had a larger canvas but with the fixture, it was out of place and hidden.

Nice space! I’d go with a low console and one large piece of art not hung too high. No shiplap-let the tray ceiling and molding steal the show. Also, can you pull your navy wing chair over toward the fireplace and more into the room? It’s kind of hanging out all alone right now.

After seeing the whole room, you don't need shiplap or any other kind of new decorative trim. It would be massive overkill. Just get a longer console and bigger art, like Beverly suggested.

Beverly nailed it. I also agree the yellow rug doesn’t related to the space it’s in or its neighbors. Something in a rich blue like the sitting area rug would marry those two spaces better. (No shiplap. Not needed.)

In my very humble opinion, your table should be positioned in the other direction. from

Your available space is the other direction. When doing this, you will lengthen the room and make the eye go outward, and expand the space. As you have it now, it seems like a small table for such a large room., maybe this is why you feel about this something is missing or off. I would also suggest a rounded light fixture, which would also soften the lines.

Yes, rotate the table 90 degrees and get rid of the yellow rug.

The yellow rug has a bit more context when you add in my new dining room chairs (that have even back ordered for 6 months and still aren’t here!) There is also yellow stripes on the family room rug that pulls the yellow and a yellow map to th right. I had a dark navy woven rug and hated it.

Also my table is also 7’ long. When rotated the other way, there is only about 2’ of space to walk around the other side of the table by the windows.

The two furniture pieces on the back wall and all the accessories they hold are all too small. You need a larger buffet/storage unit more in scale with the table. Art always looks better framed and it looks best hung over a wider piece of furniture. The right-side wall looks like part of a kitchen, even with the bar fridge. Shiplap would look more “country” and clash with the cabinetry. The area rug should run the long way with the table and chairs fully upon it.

Here is a rendering for you to better visualize, since my sharpie didn’t quite do the trick lol. if you truly can’t move the table away from the windows just a bit than rotate it… it didn’t seem like you had that much space where the chair meets the console..
the principals still the same: add taller lamps, maybe a console in a yellow to tie in your yellow rug( think something w curves) i would not put the ones you have now they are to square and it feels like kitchen cabinetry. The console should be more decorative since you have all that storage.
Add bigger art. Simple decor In the middle
Add drapery. Make sure it kisses the floor.
Add a gold fixture to again tie in the yellow. It will warm up the space instantly.
Maybe you don’t like that view from the foyer because you eye is going to a blank wall?
