help me update my 90’s exterior?!
Comments (3)I love that too! I wish my windows were trimmed in white. The taupe makes it tougher. For me at least to envision something. I think I read somewhere about a number of colors rule.. 3 if I recall? So with the beige and taupe I’m already at 2!...See MoreWhat ideas will help to update our 90s exterior with a craftsman flair
Comments (6)Not sure what you mean by "Craftsman flair." The Craftsman style is for much smaller houses, kind of squarely planted on a foundation, (well under 2000 sq ft) with porches, wood features, small dorners, pillars, often one-story, cottage garden, steps, certainly no dominating garages out front or big wings on the side. Your house has features no Craftsman house would have. Cozy colors that work with a small Craftsman would be too loud for your very large house. If you want a cozier look to your house, unless your house needs a paint job, devote your budget to beautiful front gardens instead of trying to get "Craftsman flair" on a house that is the opposite of that style....See MoreHelp with 90’s exterior update!!
Comments (10)IMO painting brick is a forever upkeep and I also think it instantly devalues the house . I do agree the siding color is not good . Some refresh of the landscaping for sure and I love this color with brick for the siding and garage door but I think some glass like in the pic would be nice in the garage door and no shutters...See MoreHelp with exterior updates - 90's mcmansion
Comments (16)The brick on the front is the only brick on the house. Siding on the front is cedar, it is vinyl on the sides and back. House was built in 1997. Everything is original. I'm not trying to change the house to a farmhouse, I just like those color combos. This all started with us wanting to replace the door, the current one might as well be a screen door as wind just goes right through it. We don't want to spend ~$20K on a new door without having an idea on what we want to do with the rest of the house. We'll eventually replace the windows and the roof is less than a year old. Appreciate everyone's thoughts, keep 'em coming!...See MoreAdriana Vallorosi
