Do you have a cordless, rechargeable stick vacuum?
Comments (0)And do you like it or not? I'm thinking about getting one and read mixed reviews about performance and reliability. My experience with vacuums is that they don't last (other than my Miele) but at this point I want to spend less than $300 for one of these. I'm about to terminate my housecleaner and it may be a while before I find another one so I'm thinking about what tools would be helpful for doing my own cleaning. I suck up a lot of stuff with a hand held vac but I'd like something I could do a once over on all the hard surface floors and maybe some rugs without lugging the regular vacuum up from downstairs (where most of the carpet is). I will use my regular vac for hard core cat hair removal on the carpet/rugs....See MoreRechargeable cordless stick vac - do you have one you recommend
Comments (20)Since I have cats again, and need to keep floors cleaner between housekeeping visits, I ended up getting a Dyson V7 earlier this summer, which I really like. It took me a while to talk myself into spending that much, but I did get it on sale and it was only about $50 more than the Shark I was considering. After getting it, I've discovered that I really enjoy using it. It is much quieter than I expected, and I have yet to run out of battery using it, but I only do one room at a time....See Morecordless stick vaccuum recommendations
Comments (15)The first Dyson that we ever bought was an upright model. We were quite happy with it --until we had kids. We soon discovered that with toddlers you need to vacuum various messes several times a day. That's when we bought the first V6. So much more convenient -- and in the end, having a vacuum that gets used is infinitely better than the best vacuum that stays in the closet. Over the years, we added two additional Dyson wands for different parts of the house. These upgraded models are so close in performance to traditional floor vacuums, we honestly haven't used the upright vacuum in a few years now. Of course, we mostly have tile and hardwood floors which occasionally get wet cleaned, we don't have pets, and we never wear shoes indoors. So, our expectations for our vacuums aren't necessarily the same as in other households....See MoreRecommendations for a hand held cordless vacuum cleaner
Comments (11)Based on the recs I bought one the other day, charged it up, and used it today on the stairs. I thought it did a good job. (it had been a good week since I vacuumed, DH has been on phone meetings most of the day and I hate to vacuum then) I did the stairs twice with the power brush and once with the crevice tool for the corners. While doing the baseboards in the hall the battery died. I was a little disappointed 15 minutes was its limit, but then I looked it up on Amazon and yes, that was about right. I look forward to using it in the car, upholstery, corners, where the litter box is, and of course the stairs! So much easier than plugging in the shark for quick, frequent jobs. I wish it had an easy way to store the accessories. This house was built before the Dustbuster so there are not a lot of outlets convenient for charging things like this. The filter had a lot of cat fur so I rinsed it and it's drying while the rest of the vacuum charges. I wonder if it will be worth it to get a second filter assembly?...See Morepetalique
