Comments (7)Your best bet would be to purchase a corded handvac with revolving brushroll like the Dirt Devil Ultra Handvac M08230X. It is a proven design, that has been around since the 80's in the plastic form. Royal made it in the metal form even older than the plastic design. With the corded models, you can clean the stairs or furniture with no time limit. It uses a shake-out bag or you can use a paper bag. Dirt Devil also has a few other models that use pleated filter. With these, you will have to make sure that you clean the filter very well after each use. Check out the Dirt Devil Classic Handvac M0100 or the Dirt Devil Power Reach M08245X. With the Eureka mentioned earlier, you will also have a filter that you muct keep clean after each use. The Dyson's filter will do well, but you will have a very short time to clean before recharging, plus the cost of the Dyson is high. You did not mention what brand and model of upright vacuum you have, but you can purchase a mini turbo attachment. This attachment will use a revolving brush, that will do well at cleaning up pet hair. Comments (1)My regular vacuum is a Kenmore canister so I just disconnect the wand at the handle and attach the crevice tool and vacuum my Dacor rangetop. The Dirt Devil Kone is handy and Consumer Reports liked it too....See Morewhat vacuum cleaner would you recommend and why?
Comments (23)I have a dyson. It was a special model offered to employees of Best Buy when our son worked there. He lived at home so we got his discount. I'd been wanting one and was thrilled to get it. That was four years ago and I still love it. I've always loved to vacuum, but then my Mom always had commercial grade vacuums and gave one of her old ones to me when I moved out. When it finally gave out instead of having it rebuilt (which my Mom had done once) we decided to try something smaller and went through a couple brands that were highly rated by Consumer Reports. Never again. That's when we bought our dyson. We have hardwood, ceramic, marble, granite, wall to wall carpet and area rugs. I use my dyson on all of them and our upholstered furniture. I even dust with it because of allergies. Ithas a very long hose that allows me to do our stairs without dragging the upright up the stairs. It also has an attachement for doing hard floors like a canister vac, but I prefer to unengage the brush and use it that way. I highly recommend the dyson if you have pets because dog and cat hair isn't a challenge to this baby. If you want a vacuum that really sucks, get a dyson. You won't regret it....See MoreCan you recommend hand held vacuum for furniture?
