Leave the wall, and leave the kitchen IN the kitchen. Doubling the size doubles your price. Maybe make a wider opening, with french doors, if you want to create a deformalized eating experience, with all of the dirty pots and pans on display to your guests.

I want to add a large island with a lot of chairs and unable to do so with current set up and size. Kitchen in other side is open to living space. Other wall in kitchen (not shown) is being taken out as well.

Sounds like a echoey bowling alley result, and still without room for an island.

Post the layout. Of the whole home. And indicate your budget. 100K, 150K, 200K etc.

Do you have a table area elsewhere? If not, I strongly discourage your from removing the only table space in your home. Eliminating a table space to add to the Kitchen really only works successfully when it's a "Breakfast Nook" space you are eliminating with a Dining Room elsewhere.

Island seating is uncomfortable for young children and older adults. Maybe that's not you right now, but that may change. (It also drops the value of your home for resale, but if this is your "forever home", then I wouldn't worry about resale - but again, you never know what may change!) Remember, you're eliminating a major component to your home, something that will be difficult to reclaim if needed.

If, despite this, you decide to go through with it, then please post a fully-measured layout of the spaces under consideration and a sketch of the entire floor the Kitchen is on.

By "fully-measured", we mean a layout with the widths of each wall/window/door/doorway and the distances between each wall/window/door/doorway labeled. See a sample below. If something cannot be moved or changed, label it precisely on your layout (see post in sample) and tell us why it cannot be moved/changed -- we may have some ideas for you.

The sketch of the entire floor lets us see how the Kitchen relates to the rest of the home. It doesn't have to be to-scale, but it should accurately show how the rooms relate to each other and should include all interior & exterior doors. In addition, it will help us see how traffic flows in, around, and through the Kitchen. Label the front entry and family entry. The family entry is usually a garage or side entry, but it might not be. It's helpful to know which door you use to bring in groceries.

• Tell us about you and your family and how you plan to use your Kitchen. All-adults? Empty Nesters? Children (now or in the future)?
• What appliances (& their sizes) do you plan to have?

Here are the measurements, I apologize not drawn to scale this is the first time I’ve done that. But I’ve also added a few pictures to get an idea. I do have an extra large living room that no one uses I added a picture of that which is right next to the current dining room. That has a large bay window and that can potentially be a dining room if need be down the road. I would like to put in a large farm table (pic included) and push the kitchen down a little bit right now with the current set up I can’t fit a table in my kitchen and I just have a formal dining room. Half of the week there are Six of us ( divorced and have shared custody) and the other half it’s just two of us.

Walls and doorways can move and I do have a finished basement below

This sounds a lot like what we did. After the bump out in our kitchen we have a slider that will eventually lead to a deck. The dinning room portion has the island running half way into it with the end of the island shaped a little different to allow comfortable seating.
