Change it to Bright White Spectralock What do you guys think. The pictures show the gray lighter than it actually is. Also the spacing is a bit uneven in certain parts... Thanks you so much for your help. we might redo the backsplash after we settle. From what we read online, regrouting the subway tiles seems easy, didn’t come across much information about these kind of mosaic ones. we assumed we can get help from here. So we have option of painting as well. Gray design In the tiles blends with the gray grout and tan grout might help to highlight the design. regarding the clause, we never noticed until the project manager refused to redo. We are in a state where attorney review is not part of the process. it Is our first time building a home, so we never see it coming. We are not playing victim here. Definitely the builders are not on the right side. they save installed lighter grout in the neighborhood for similar mosaic tiles. Builders have separate paperwork for dark grout based on owners choice (which we came to know after our issue). Even the design studio people verbally agree that it is not their usual way to use dark grout without request. They are surprised when e stopped at the design studio to confirm on the sample. These are not the only issue with the builders, and the work is not clean by their supposed standard and $$$ they are charging, please don’t judge, as people can be genuine with their worries, thanks again for all your suggestions.

Wow I guess we all have different eyes. I would change backsplash to a white subway , paint walls lighter (near white) keep cabs and counter as is and get a custom treatment for existing window(swing arm w classy fabric you can swing open or close or halfway if not sitting at desk) . A white subway tile with tan/brown grout showing in same position as your tile and whitish walls would do a lot. You want the 4 in backsplash and rip out that granite and paint the cabs and pay to rip out a unique window? I'm confused then. The cabs in truth are good looking but older w no drawers. Best leave them add hardware as you will want to replace at a certain point.

are your tiles that size or smaller? the smaller the tile, the worse the slivers will look. otherwise, do the bottom row just like they have in the picture. No less than half a tile for that bottom row. (more is better) It's better to deal w/the gap at the top under the cabinets, then to have a tiny sliver on the bottom row next to the countertop. At the very least, you could always run a very thin pencil liner in the gap right under the cabinets. but you aren't going to see this unless you crouch down and look. so even a gap of 1/8" will be ok. You could do a liner, or even a Schluter metal edge liner that matches the tile color this is a thick liner, but you could do something less obtrusive. just a thin liner in the same tile color. you could also run a piece of trim molding that matches your cabinet color. see this trim piece? (you would place it between the upper tile row and the bottom of your cabinets) then you'd paint it the same color as cab Are your tiles white like that? make sure and do a contrasting grout instead of bright white.
