Comments (11)Linda ya wanna tango with me again, lets go . You know how I know it's Walnut, it's my business to know ! It's not a hobby of mine to know a little about everything. I know squat about plates, glassware, old spoons and what have you and I keep quiet about things like that. What I do know if furniture! I know wood types, I know what woods were period to that style piece. Linda if you scratched thru a mahogany stain/finish it would show the same color as the Walnut is , I know you think otherwise, but your mistaken. For the most part all woods have that same mono tone color when they are RAW , meaning no finish or stain whatso ever. I'll take some shots of unfinished piece in my shop and explain to you what I'm talking about....See MoreBuffet Table / Sideboard / Server
Comments (9)I dont know what you have access to, but I would strongly suggest a visit to your local antique stores/malls. We have so many great pieces of furniture like this in our mall (I have a few booths in it) that could easily be used as a buffet or Sideboard for sale in ours that you could easily find one of superior construction(as in solid wood, vintage, not cheapo throw away materials)probably for a lot less then you'd expect to spend. Of course, CL is also a great option. dont rule out the right dresser, since many of them would work as well....See MoreHelp me find a server/buffet
Comments (67)@oldbat2be: too funny, don't you know that I was obsessed with both of those tiles during my kitchen and FR remodel. The circles were too large and I decided to just go with the marble in the kitchen -- then for the FR fireplace I decided to go with a painted surround and using another tile from Ken Mason. I do love them both, and forgot that they came in that orangish color (the same color I think AnnieD was encourage). One issue -- that wall is like 9x15 -- that's over $10K in tile (gulp) at the pricing that I recall. I also looked at wall paper and some other wall materials. ....See MoreSuch a cold impersonal feel to this place
Comments (38)Another pinterest avoider here! When I'm researching something I skip over those photos too. Mama goose, interesting that you're required to log in each time. The site keeps me logged in, for some reason; I can't remember the last time I had to log in here. I have the GW home forums page saved as a quick link in my browser bar. Brings it right up, with no pop up for log in. I just restarted my computer, to double check; still no log in required. I wonder what the difference is...? I’m on an aging PC with Windows Vista; Foxfire browser; my shoe size is 8 and I have green eyes, if that helps. ;-) There are so many different ways to do things on computers, and so many different possible components affecting any one result. Sometimes I think it would be easier to figure out how they built the ancient pyramids. (At least those types of questions are not a moving target, changing every other day.)...See Morethinkdesignlive
