Now that I don’t work in preschools, I don’t dress up for Halloween other than to put on my ”pumpkin socks”. DH would never dress up for Halloween!

As a kid, malted milk balls. I think that was the only time of year that I had them. When my kids were trick-or-treating, I’d ask for their ”Smarties” (“Rockets” in Canada”.

No dressing up for Halloween at my house. I liked the sweet- tart Smarties candies, not the Anglo Canadian Smarties (though I like those too, and am now singing the jingle from the 70s, IYKYK.)

Probably won't dress up as anything again this year. We do a haunted forest themed thing over at a friends wooded property and the kiddos follow a path through the woods and see scary displays and pick up candy at spots along the way.

My favorite candy was and still is any chocolate with almonds. Aldi sells some chocolate/caramel with sea salt covered almonds that I must always have on hand.

I put on Halloween themed earrings and a hat. My favorite is a pirate hat from DD's collection. DD will dress akin to a favorite anime character. DH would never dress up.

Haven't dressed up for Halloween since a young adult invited to parties! And in my wooded and rather remote location, Halloween is pretty much a non-event anyway. No kids on the private road and far too dark and homes too spaced out for it to be a drive-to location. Haven't had a single trick or treater in the 6 years I've lived here!

I'm not a big candy person but I don't mind an occasional Snickers or Mounds bar.

No dressing up this year. We use to go the Halloween parties before we started watching our grands on the weekend. I miss not dressing up for Halloween parties, my hubby not so much. The grands dress up. This weekend we are going to zoo boo. Then a kids party the following weekend.and finally a community party in the afternoon and trick or treating in the eve on the 30th. We are on a private road so we take the grands over the hill to the housing plan. A scarecrow, a butterfly and 2 are something from a video game. My favorite treat when I was young was the candy apples a neighbor would make. I like Almond Joy bars.

I have never dressed up for Halloween as an adult.

Hmm, we have a halloween block party every year. I usually wear my standard devil ears and tail. One year I wore all my travel paraphernalia and went as a tourist.

My favorite treat now is Twix which didnt exist when I was a kid.

I'll be wearing my bright orange corduroy shirt (only time I wear it) and VgQn will wear her blouse which is dotted with tiny pumpkins and bats. We'll just get one TOTer, it's our newish next door neighbors with two 5&6 YO kids. I get the rest of the candy ;-)

We haven't dressed for Halloween for years now. We used to, although DH somewhat reluctantly. We had a family costume box, trunk sized, I don't even know what's happened to it. Many his and her costumes (raggedy ann and andy, lion and lioness, man sized bride, womens sized groom etc), along with what I think were enough jumper style crayon costumes to fill a crayon box.

Halloween a little bit of a non event here too since buying this house. 9 years. It's a hilly dead end street reached from about a block long dark wooded stretch. We went from about 200 at the door to 12 at the most.

Great nieces and nephews will come, likely afternoon, grandchildren of a few friends. I have candy, and M&Ms for the littles. We aren't really candy eaters, maybe I never was because I can't think of a special treat I looked forward to in my halloween bag (it was a pillowcase!). A really decadent caramel apple sounds good for some reason today, I think I would enjoy that.

Last year I had a disposable hazmat suit. I went as Dr. Fauci.

Before covid we had an adult Halloween party every year. Oh man the costumes! To name a few that dh and I and our adult kids and their so's wore....

We dress up at work so I bought a 1880s style Bar Wench costume. I wear it every year so I get my money's worth out of it. Can't this year as I will be moving into my new apartment that weekend. Favorite candy Peanut MnMs and Almond Joy.

Here's a costume I wore to a party at Shane Black's house in Hollywood/ Hancock Park:

I had to grow a goatee for this costume, and that took about a week. Then I dyed it turquoise so that I could also be Bluebeard. I had some blue dye, but I liked the turquoise better.

The only thing I made was the sash - I already had the shirt, pants, and vest. The vest was made in Thailand and has gold embroidery on it.

The boots actually go up to my knees, but the pants were so voluminous that they covered up the upper portion, but this also made it easier to sit down.

As for candy - I do not like anything with peanut butter or peanuts in it, and this could be a concern for those who have peanut allergies - I do not - I just don't care for peanuts.

I do like Almond Joy and Snickers that have almonds instead of peanuts.

I tend to buy Japanese gummy candy instead, however, and it comes in a lot of nice fruit flavors that I like - Kiwi is my favorite. It's a lot cheaper at the Japanese market than it is from Amazon.

I also like this Japanese coffee candy. I do not drink coffee, as a rule, but I do like coffee candy and coffee desserts - especially coffee ice cream. If you do drink coffee, you might not like the candy, as it might not be the blend that you like.

Our Halloween block party has been canceled this year, and so I will not be dressing up.

I have to ride that day. I really would love to be a squirrel on the horse but that giant tail would spook the herd. So I'm going as a scarecrow most likely. That or rodeo cowboy. If I trick or treat with the grands this year I'll be a seahorse.

DIL's parents live in a Chicago neighborhood famous for Trick or Treating. People come in droves. Our grands have always spent the evening there. They go through thousands of bars of candy. (I think it was a little sparse last Halloween, but will probably be back to normal pandemonium this year.)

It's been ages since DH and I 'did' Halloween. I decorated at this house for a couple of years, but the turnout was maybe ten kids one year. We go dark now.

Snickers were big favorites of kids back when. I've been thinking of stocking some fifty cent pieces, just in case we have kids who don't understand the 'no porch light/no trick or treating'. We don't enjoy the usual Halloween candy.

DS and DIL did dress up last weekend when friends had a Birthday Party for their House. They bought it last year, and it's now 100. DS was in a dark suit and shades, carrying a violin case (champagne inside, not a gat). DIL was a cute flapper; said it took her ages to make ringlets.

We have a 5k each year last Saturday of October...I'm still thinking on this year's costume.

We haven't dressed up in years. We usually go out for dinner and treat ourselves for halloween. Our neighborhood wouldn't bring in children anyway. And now the town is big on trunk or treat at a local school.

In the past we've gone as Bonnie & Clyde, Romeo and Juliet and a zombie bride & groom.

But the most fun I had was learning how to make wounds. You use tp and elmer's glue and make a scrunchy patch on the skin and let it dry. Then you cut through the middle of the paper and paint the inside with fake blood which you then can let dribble out. Looks amazing!

It would be fun to dress up to hand out candy, but we live in the mountains and get no trick-or-treaters here, so no. Last time we went to a Halloween party, though, I went as Morgana, with my DH going as Merlin. My mother made our costumes and they were fantastic! I still have them packed away somewhere.

We don't do Halloween any longer -- house is on a country road with few street lights, and the houses are quite far apart. Not worth it for the kiddos, nor safe, really.

My favorite costume was the one my younger son did when his youngest child was a year old -- dad was the pirate, and the kid was the parrot on his shoulder. SO cute! That parrot is now in high school ad taller than dad!

I love Halloween. One of my favorite holidays. I wasn't going to pass out candy this year but have decided to go ahead with it. Whoever is passing out candy will wear a mask. I've dressed up as a witch to pass out candy in the past and one year a kangaroo. Haven't decided if I'll dress up this year or not.

Went to zooboo today with the family. Boy am I pooped. Its bad enough the zoo is built on a hill, but it was crowded. It reached its max capacity and had to turn people away. We all had a good time though. Loved seeing all the little ones in their costumes, even whole families dressed up.

It’s been a while since we have dressed up for Halloween. When the kids were small, I had a witches outfit i made and would wear it when i answered the door for the kids. DH and i have been Olive Oyl and Popeye, Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Titanic survivors, part of a box of crayons, and some others I cant remember. We also had a few costume days at work. I won with my Maxine costume (the Hallmark card Maxine). I had bat wings and other easy stuff i could put on too for fun.

I have never dressed up for halloween as an adult. When we were little we had a huge cardboard box full of costumes. Every single year my mother made me dress up as a bride. Every year. We did not go trick or treating usually but attended our schools fall festival which was pretty fun but my friends would tease me that I would come up with all these wonderful ideas for halloween costumes(which they STOLE i might add) and every year i would show up in that bride costume. I have no idea why my mother insisted on it, my older siblings were allowed to choose whatever costume they wanted. Me, I was always a little bride. She still has not explained herself to this day.

I get the last laugh though, as always.

When she asks me why me and SO have not gotten married after being together for 12 years now, I blame my sinful living situation(her view of it,not mine) on that bride costume. 😉 She is NOT amused when I do but I was not amused to be running around in a too small bride costume for 5 years sooooo...

All October long I dress in halloween themed things. For work I have lots of nice enough for work tops with halloween prints, earrings, hats,etc. For everyday I have quite a few t-shirts to wear. My favorite are my "Great Pumpkin Believer" shirt and my "I got a ROCK!" shirt.

My coworker dressed up as me for halloween last year. It was weird and she looked foolish. A PALE SUBSTITUTE!!!!

We’ve never done much at all for Halloween. We used to carve a pumpkin and put a candle in it when the kids were small but they never dressed up and we adults certainly didn’t. They didn’t go trick or treating and we didn’t give out candy, not even to our own children.

Halloween is a festival which was effectively non existent In England when I was growing up. Only our Scots neighbours had a small kids’ party with apple bobbing and carved turnips. (Pumpkins were rare. They're grown here now.) It was eventually imported from the US, presumably by companies wanting to sell stuff before Christmas.

I'm dressing up as a fat, middle-aged woman....

The kids here don't care what you're wearing - as long as you put a bowl of candy in front of them, I'm not sure they'd even notice if I was nude. :)

This year I will wear a stylized cat mask to hand out candy in. No tail and just black slacks and a black shirt will complete the costume. Usually I just wear a witch's hat and a long black costume dress.

Haven't donned a costume since I was a kid and my favorite candy was a Clark Bar!
