To Pella (Again) or Not to Pella?
Comments (3)I have also noticed many people bashing Pella, we install multiple lines of windows and Pella being one of them, that being said Pella is a great window. It is my belief that more than likely the people who are unhappy with Pella actually have installation issues, regardless of what they may say or who may have looked at the problems. Any wood window if not installed properly will begin to rot, if installed properly a wood frame window with a cladding on the outside will last for a lifetime when properly installed and maintained...See MoreMajor Disappointment With Pella Windows and Doors - Caveat Emptor
Comments (204)@Ronnie Hossain Pella was sued and settled the case for Pella ProLine casement, awning, or transom window which were manufactured between January 1, 1991, and December 31, 2009 (“Pella ProLine Casement Window”) As @millworkman said, most issues people having is improper installation, and for every complaint, we address when it comes to newly installed windows or doors or anything else for that matter 90% of the issues are related to improper installation or flashing applications, etc. Not sure what happened in your case since you didn't say what issues you experienced yes some company representatives do try to point the arrows at the installers but most of the time they're right because not many follow the manufacturer's guidelines and not only when it comes to windows I see that with backer board installations, with composite decking installations, etc. That being said, I'm not defending Pella window manufacturer, I never used Pella and never suggested using them, just telling you based on my general experience... If you take the best product out there and you do not follow the manufacturer's minimum installation requirements there will be issues. Good luck...See MorePella Proline Black Exterior Window/ White Interior Window - Help!!!
Comments (34)do you have window coverings? And do you love them? What brand did you go with? House looks great. I read the link someone posted and brought up the black interior and decorating. I was thinking of just doing all black in the living areas and black out with white inside in the sleeping areas. Thanks for the quick response! :) Would love to see more pics of your house. Any idea what your exterior brand and color are?...See MorePower Windows vs Pella Direct
Comments (60)Windows on Washington: "Is there a 3rd option. The Pella 250 is not what most would call a top tier performer and while the Vytex product is nice, some of the install quality of those options is questionable." W-o-W, would you mind educating me on this? Do you know for a fact that the quality of one is superior (in this case, you seem to be saying the Vytex is better) and/or why you believe that? I'm just trying to make the most informed decision within the limited number of days I have to cancel the contract. I still have 1 more estimate to be done by Renewal by Andersen. Also, I don't suppose you or anyone can speak on the service quality/reliability, etc. of PHR and/or Window Nation? During my research last night, it seemed like PHR has a better BBB rating than WN. In WN's advertisement, they said they are rated "A" by BBB but during my research, the BBB indicates they're "not accredited" which really concerns me as it feels like it's a lie/misleading/false advertisement. Both companies seems to have their own shares of grievances that concerns me but at least it does seem like PHR has the better BBB rating. Both companies seems to offer lifetime warrantees on their windows. BTW, I live in northern VA so if anyone have any advice or suggestions, I would greatly welcome it....See MoreTracey Woods
