I’m renovating my small 1914 California bungalow kitchen, and scored on a fully refurbished 40 inch Wedgewood stove. It’s beautiful, and I’m excited! I had a Wedgewood before, so I’m quite familiar with them, and love having a vintage stove in my vintage kitchen.
It’s going at the end of the cabinet run, with uppers to the left, no overhead cabinet, and a doorway to the dining room on the right. This is the same layout as my “old” kitchen, and we chose to keep the same footprint.
My original vision was to keep the stovepipe and have it rechromed, and install a ceiling vent/fan, but the cost for that is looking quite high. Might still do it!
I’ll have new custom inset painted Saker cabinets (F&B Blue Gray) and a marble countertop.
My GC can build me something, if I choose; I’d love help figuring out something that looks “right”. Or I can buy a chimney hood or….?
Vintage stove owners- what did you do? What wouldyou do?
I’ll try to add some photos- Houzz isn’t letting me do so at the moment, but I’ll work on it:)
Thanks for your help.
