Bavarian crochet finished (finally!)
Comments (8)Donna It is absolutely stunning! It does look very hard, but very much worth the time to make it! Glad you finished it so you can get back to quilting lol! I have been making afghans and I miss my first love, quilting, so much. Rosa...See MorePOLL: What is your summer knit/crochet project?
Comments (21)1. Finishing a crochet baby blanket from 2 years ago (someone I know is pregnant). 2. Finishing a child's poncho, which was going to be a birthdy present in spring, but now will be a Christmas present. 3. Just started a shawl in various cream and soft pink colors. 4. Have yarn and pattern for summer sleeveless top (fat chance on that one). Too busy outside gardening! Cutting wayyy back some junipers from the 1950's to make room for perennials in 99+ heat. Had to take a break inside in the a/c!...See MoreEver finish someone else's project? Advice?
Comments (6)Susan is right. There's actually not much to even consider until you actually see the project and what is provided. Without a pattern it isn't an impossible task, but it could prove very difficult, even if the rest of the materials are present. I attempted (and miserably failed) to complete a rather old tablecloth and repair an equally old afghan, just because I cringed at the thought of the destruction of so much work. But having no idea of the exact threads, hook sizes, etc., I was utterly unsuccessful. I ended up throwing the afghan away, but I saved the tablecloth - just packed it away. Someday when I am feeling up to it, I plan to cut away the damaged motifs and see about possibly making a few smaller mats out of it. It is a sweet thing for you to do, but I wouldn't make any promises without seeing first what might be required to finish the job....See MoreKnitter Knockers for the Yarnies out there! (And Crocheter’s too!)
Comments (14)I found the cotton yarn I needed online. Now that it has arrived, I am knitting their pattern. I am on my 3rd one. I will mail them off when I have knit the whole skein since they want the yarn label to arrive with the knockers. They stuff them, which is great as I am not that good at even stuffing. It is a little fiddly the first 3 rows using dpns, but then it is a no brainer. I have learned not to use stitch markers for the first 3 rows, and that helps. Then I use only one marker to indicate the beginning of the row. My problem is that I will get lost in a TV show and forget to do the increase and have to back track....See More
