Hello again Snoonyb, I had a door company come out to give an estimate on finishing the job just to see what it would cost should it start raining (it's hard to get help to life that thing during the week). Since they charge for the service call, they were also able to see exactly what I was working with and give advice on the amount of work left, and confirmed two things: 1) The concrete is not level and will need to be raised a bit 2) The gap on the sides only leaves about 1/4"-3/8" at most. If the door cannot be squared in that little space (it's hitting the trimmer in certain spots), the space will need to be widened a bit. I'm going to give it one more shot of just shimming the sill to try to level it as a test to see if it can be squared, but if that doesn't work, I'll need to widen it a bit. Once widened, I'd have to add the 4" tiles you suggested and get the whole surface level. I'm hoping I can remove a trimmer on one side and replace it with this http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/HH.asp, and cut the stucco back to accommodate the extra 1.5". How does that sound? I can take a picture of all 4 gaps if you're curious how much room I have. It's really hard to get pictures of it though since the lighting can be misleading. Skip the internet; go to a real lumber yard and ask them to place an order for a wood single glazed interior door with tempered true divided lights (or no lights) in any size you need, ready for paint or stain, in any wood species you like. The Simpson door catalog lists such a glazed single leaf door as "available in virtually any size". The last glazed pocket door I designed was 42 inches. Remember, it has to be a bit larger than the opening and it doesn't need the standard bevel at the latch side so it might be wise to order it an inch large and rip the latch side square or just reverse the door. Be sure it is not prepared for hardware in any way. Nice pop-out hardware is hard to find but well worth the effort because this door will get a lot of abuse. By the way, if appliances did not fit through a 36 inch door opening (35 inch clear with door fully open or removed) few would be sold to homeowners. The largest restaurant range I know of is 34 inches deep and a 30 cu. ft. refrigerator is 30 inches deep. Here is a link that might be useful: Simpson

Also check out Milgard windows and doors. I think they would be cheaper than Marvin. For my house, I installed custom commercial floor to ceiling windows and sliders (over 100 linear feet). They are very good quality and very well priced. Unfortunately, the guy who did them is no longer in business. You could google custom windows and see if you can get an estimated price quote over the phone.

Thanks guys. I THINK that I'm going to go with the Jeld-Wen 1510. Looks like the grille profile is more of a beveled angular shape, and not colonial. Which is what I'm looking for. Can't be 100% sure, because I feel like none of these Door websites have great pictures. they're all tiny, and low res. Which makes shopping touch when you're paying attention to design details.
