Butterflies this month …

Jilly

I planted Mexican Sunflower seeds in a bed this year; it has really attracted the butterflies. Every day I see a different kind. Three I’ve been able to get pictures of:

Monarch. They’re migrating to Mexico right now, and lots have been stopping by on the way. I feel very honored to have them.

Giant Swallowtail

Gulf Fritillary

I see lots of small bright yellow ones, but don’t know the name. And on an Abelia shrub nearby, I’ve seen a Hummingbird Moth every day. Hard to get a good picture, it’s very shy and moves fast. Look towards the bottom left.

I love seeing them, and miss them during winter.

Please share any of your own. :)
