Paint color for interior of house
Comments (2)You have to sample the paint. 1 color in a whole house gets exposed to colder and warmer light, and looks different. Go to a local SW store and ask them for neutral light color recommendations....and while they are not currently selling samples, buy the quart of at least your 5 top choices, paint large sample boards (foam core) and check them inside your new home. You don't have flooring etc installed yet, so things will still change. A whole house paint job is a big investment to get wrong....See MoreIs it a design no-no to paint the interior of a home all one color?
Comments (7)Yes-yes! We renovated our house in the desert foothills of Yuma Arizona and painted everything Sherwin Williams Greek Villa, also using different finishes for walls, ceilings, doors and trim. It’s bright, airy and filled with sunshine. Perfect for changing color schemes seasonally. We did use Sherwin Williams Foothills to accent the arches over picture windows with views of the foothills or else the arch effect would have been lost. Having been a florist, I love color, but think a warm white interior is perfect for using lots of accent color. Every room has a different feel....See MoreOK to mix warm and cool paint colors for interior home?
Comments (3)I'm asking because Moonlight White is warm and Chelsea Gray is cool It works. They factually both fall on the cooler side of the Yellow Hue Family. Psychological color temperature isn't something that is measured. It's a contextual judgment. However, we can use a color space framework, like Munsell, to predict warmer vs. cooler color appearance. Because the framework itself is built from comparing colors to each other in order to categorize them by hue, value and chroma. The factual warm/cool designation holds true more often than not in actual perception....See MoreWhole house interior paint color
Comments (14)Color matches between brands aren't always accurate because each brand has a different base. If you do that, be sure to sample a test can before they paint your whole house. Or just look at what Valspar has that is similar. Sampling is a good idea regardless. Paint a board or scrap piece of drywall with two coats and take it from room to room so you can see how the color looks in different lighting....See MoreShoemaker
