Front Loader recommendations for one
Comments (23)I've been looking at that LG also but wondered one thing: if you look at the tub - the four and eight o'clock position - there are just two holes in the rubber gasket. On all the other TurboWash washers, there are actually two nozzles pointing into the tub. I wonder if this washer has a light version of the TurboWash, so to speak. I highly recommend a member from automaticwasher.org regarding questions about the Frigidaire. I'll link a thread in which posted on the Affinity below. Finally, here are some pictures. Four sets of duvet covers and pillow covers. Two of them are super-lightweight microfiber sets and the other two are regular cotton ones. First washer is a 20-year old Bosch with a 1.8 cu.ft (?) drum, then my Duet with its 3.3 cu.ft drum and finally the load in the Axxis dryer. Even the small washer could have easily handled more. The dryer... not so much. Alex BTW: you owe me one for putting my laundry in the dirty washer. ;-) Used to belongs to our landlord's family who would always leave wet clothes in there for days! Comments (35)Sorry, I missed a bunch of posts here. This "temporary" flooring will be used for the next 1.5 yr or so until I undertake the kitchen remodel. There will be NO salvaging the rug. It's disgusting and while I didnt intentionally spill the paint-- lukki is right that it is a happy accident! I also nix sheet vinyl. I hate it.. would rather do anything else but. My long term vision for the kitchen is only partially worked through so it's hard to say what I envision for the long term. IF I can bring in flooring that will last through a reno, then I'll be more likely to take the time to choose carefully. As I've said a few times, I love the look and features of cork. However, I think I could also be happy with some other options. I am definitely intrigued by the poly plywood suggestion-- and had already hoped to paint the subfloor (until I discovered that it will require a great deal of work). I could move forward with that as soon as the painters are through. I don't mind spending some money on the flooring-- it's worth it to be rid of the carpet. What I don't have much to spare is time... so all of the quick and easy options are high on the list. Bee.. that's funny! I said that very same thing to my bf (who thought Ollie's was a hoot.) Thank you all-- love the range of ideas and suggestions! I just need to spend some time mulling them over now....See MoreRecommendations for cheap temporary kitchen floor in period home?
Comments (5)Vinyl is the cheapest way, but it really isn't that cheap in less you can get it prepackaged in the roll, which is what we ended up doing - I wanted vinyl but couldn't decide so I went to Home Depot and decided I wasn't leaving till I picked something to put down as I was tired of the plywood floor - while looking at the big rolls, I turned around and found ours - $50 for a 9x12 and we taped it down, put molding around it and what's nice is if we ruin it, no biggie - remove the molding, pull it up, and put a new piece down - it sits right next to hardwood and looks nice. Personally speaking, if it is only a year, why waste the money - we lived with a horrible sink base and tiny countertop pulling out most of the kitchen for about a year after moving in/redoing ours till we could get the money together and decide what we wanetd. I refused to use some of the stuff so we ripped it out as it was nasty. The best vinyl's we found were just basic/neutral that weren't heavy patterned. I really like ours as we are DIY the rest of the house and it is easy to clean, doesn't get dirty easily, and doesn't scratch. It was only supposed to be temporary, but it's staying as it grew on me. Oh, I should mention, it really wasn't just $50 - the tape was about $10 for two rolls, then you have the plywood subfloor as ours was rotted out - about $200 as I didn't want luan (not as good as solid plywood), deck screws, and other misc. supplies, and the molding to match the cabinets....See MoreAm I the only one with temporary tunnel vision?
Comments (15)Mel, so good to see you posting! Your garden is so beautiful! Teka, sounds like you are not alone with your affliction. In the beginning, I loved apricot roses. Now, I mostly get pinks and lavenders, however, due to my limited space, I love and am crazy about stripey roses. Beth on her helps me with my affliction. I figure I get two roses for the price of one. Matt is Stuck in Traffic--I love your name. Ugh, so true. I don't know which zone you live in. However, if you want to try an oldie but a goodie (so far, he is still a baby) from the late 1800's, I would suggest you check out Vick's Caprice. He is a beautiful, very subtle stripey rose with a great scent and lasts long in the vase. Let me see if I can get a picture of him for you....See More- 2 years ago
