Can you help me arrange furniture in my living room?
Comments (8)You have a beautiful home! Okay, from what I can tell is you have too much furniture in the room. If you have a couple of teenage boys, then keep the floral sofa for now, if not, it probably should go. lol Once you take that sofa out you can then figure a better floor plan for the leather furniture. I like the arrangement but I'd scoot the leagther sofa back to the sofa table. And maybe add a coffee table in front of the sofa. You will still have space for walking and for your little one to play. Maybe a painted wood coffee table to add a bit more color? I would take the end table/lamp out of the room, the one between the chair and wall, and add a floor lamp in the corner. With those pieces gone, you can turn the clock to face the TV, but centered in the small wall space near the stairs. Rooms need to have a bit of airiness to keep from feeling crowded/claustrophobic. I've been in your situation before and it was hard getting rid of pieces I liked, but once I did we felt a lot more comfortable!...See MoreNeed help arranging furniture in a weird living room!
Comments (10)I like the suggestions of others, but if you'd rather keep things facing the window (prefer the view or would rather have a more open traffic pattern or whatever), you can totally make that work too. I think the picture window is a centered in the whole space, and you want your living space centered closer to the fireplace, so it may work better to have just one chair or unmatched chairs, so you're not trying to create a symmetrical arrangement in an assymetrical space. Also, it looks like you have a reasonable sized space where the keyboard (?) is. I would consider treating that as a separate little nook (not really connected to the living room) maybe with a cozy chair and side table, or a small desk or the keyboard, or whatever is useful to you....See MoreCan anyone help with bedroom furniture arrangement?
Comments (14)Beds need to be positioned so that your feet are pointing toward the entry way into the room (if you were laying down in it). So it looks like it's on the wall it should be. I would just center it on that wall, and then I would do the old Rebecca Robeson trick and get a mirror the same size as the window and hang it on the other side to "balance" the wall. I would hang window treatments over each "window" for symmetry. And then you need two nightstands for each side of the bed. Then don't put pieces of furniture at an angle in a corner. Move that dresser flat onto a wall and get rid of that little table by the window....See MoreHelp - Our family room! How do I arrange our furniture
Comments (9)Can the fish tank sit on top of the record player? Those could go between the windows. Personally, I would have put the TV on the wall right of the FP where you have the whatnot shelves and would have floated the two loves in an "L" out in front of the TV/FP area. The chair and ottoman would go in the recess by the closet for a quiet reading nook. Add a bookcase and lamp to flesh that out. You can still try that arrangement, but there is not much space for seating within easy viewing distance of the TV when it is high, smushed in to the corner and adjacent to the stair area, doors and traffic path. You might seriously want to reconsider the TV placement for optimal use of the space with your current furnishings....See Moreitybity41
