Best place to go furniture shopping IN PERSON

We are building a large, new home .. where are the best places in the United States that we can go furniture shopping for high end/quality furniture? We would like to plan a trip somewhere and see the biggest selection as possible and order it all at once. Looking for fresh, modern, industrial furniture for our lake home that I describe as "mountain modern"

North Carolina! (prejudiced since we live here; but there is Hickory, and Lexington, and HIgh Point, and bunches of others as well. Most within the same general area. Wear VERY comfortable shoes. Also there are a few sample places, samples from the furniture market that are then sold.

Fern.maas, I got the fertiliser from a feed mill on Hwy20 just west of Smithville, Ontario. There is another place about 2 miles further west in Fulton with the same price. TSC is the Tractor Supply Company but the long name never gets used. They are an American outfit across southern Ontario's farm communities selling almost everything a farmer needs. Both purchases were regular priced, not a sale price.

There are many available stores in Calgary. Why not try to search in online local directories, I'm pretty sure they have their business listed. Where to go in NYC for afforable furniture shopping?

Hi Tedbearz. If you find out what brand of furniture you want, and model numbers, photos, etc, you then can go to Katz's on the lower east side. They have been in biz for about 100 years, and they give you incredible prices. The key is to know what you want, and then go to places like this. There is a crate and barrel outlet in NJ that had nothing. We occasionally can find a piece, or some rugs, bedding at Fortunoffs outlet in Westbury. I have tried a pottery barn outlet too, and not that much new, usuable furniture. I guess it's hit or miss.

"Someone here on the board recommended www.stardecorating.com" That be me, lol. I had such good luck with them. Customer service was great, too. We decided to change the color on our order, after the time limit had expired. They were fabulous about it and called the manufacturer to see if they had started on the blinds, yet. They hadn't, so the change order went through.

Went to NC, Hickory and High Point, ended up buying a house full of furniture (post house fire) from: https://www.furniturelandsouth.com/ (main store and outlet).

Great selection from numerous manufacturers, at good prices. Agree, wear walking shoes. Stayed at a cute B&B.
