Pretty Litter cat litter

Is anyone here using it? At $22 per month per cat, it's pricey. My neighbor uses it and I am tempted! It is easy to scoop out the solid stuff and you are done, except for the monthly litter change.

Right now I am using World's Best cat litter, made from corn. I have been composting the urine-soaked litter daily. But then I had a bug issue (mostly my fault) when I didn't empty the garbage can with the feces.

Strange. It took 24 hours for this to show up. I thought I had failed to hit the Submit button or something. I ordered the kitty litter.

Never heard of it. I use Petco bulk scoopable litter - low dust and reasonably priced.

This would cost you about $100, but you could purchase a large dog crate and fix it up with litter box/pan, food, and water. Put the crate somewhere where it won't bother you. Keep her inside for several hours at a time. She'll have room to move and will likely start using her litter again. I have one of these big dog crates in my kitchen, and I bring my one mean cat in at night and bed her down inside. She is separate from the indoor cats (can't harass them), warm and safe. She has come to love this crate because it belongs to her, and she knows that it is her safe, secure night-time spot. Good luck.

Well, that's a mystery. It is hard for me to know what "kitty litter" smells like, to you at least, since every brand I try for my cats has some distinct odor to mask the cat smells and they all smell different. Perhaps you can call some friends (women) with keen noses to help out in identifying the smell. I have typically found that women have a better sense of smell then men! I can only recommend that you do what you are planning to do--tear down the shed and continue to look/open up every possible surface. How about trying a natural air freshener as well. Vinegar in bowls places around the room helps, as does coffee grounds, baking soda, etc. Actually kitty litter is often used to absorb smells. You're lucky it isn't anything worse!

I can see where you could have an issue with 2 cats using the same box 24/7. Besides them having to share one box, I think their diet and the brand of cat litter you use also plays a part in how often you need to dump the litter and start fresh. I have two adult cats and use an unscented (yet I can detect a slight scent), clumping litter in a total of 3 litter boxes. Each cat tends to choose its favorite box and the 3rd box is occasionally shared. I average around 6-8 weeks before I empty the box and start over. I make it a habit to keep disinfectant wipes near each box and after scooping I wipe the inside edges of the box with the wipes. I now use A&H and Simple Step brands but find the Simple Step Ultra Multi-Cat to be the best at holding clumps together. In most cases, placing the extra 2 litter boxes in different (easy to access) rooms works best to prevent any territorial issues, or chances of sneak attacks, when the box is being used.

I use World's Best. It's the lowest dust of all the brands I've tried.

Let us know how you like it. I used crystal a long time ago and it had a lot of dust. I use the breeze system now and it is pretty good and the trays are not that much. You can get the pee pads from Amazon that are not too expensive.

I dont have a cat now but $44 / month on a kitty litter subscription sounds (outrageous / ridiculous / more money than id be happy to spend). subscription products always seem to be quite a bit more than one would typically spend in purchases whether it be dental floss, razors, or detergent. i’d call it a all racket.

I can’t stand the commercial with Martha Stewart and the cat in the mortar on the kitchen counter while she talks about cat litter! Eeeeww. Don’t eat guacamole at Martha’s house!

Keeping cats off your counters seems futile. I wipe down my counters with disinfectant each time I prepare any food.

I use Breeze and it is effective but my cats seem to make a game of getting the pelletts as far flung as possible. I was thinking about pretty litter too.

My cats don't go on our counters....they know better. Once in awhile when they were kittens, I might see some footprints, but no more.

We use the regular scooping stuff Arm & Hammer clump n seal.
