Help finding a distressed ivory/white bedroom set please!!
Comments (1)Is there a furniture store closer to where you live that sells Hooker Furniture (even though they don't have that specific line in stock)? You might want to ask them if they can order a piece for you at no obligation....See MoreNeed suggestions for bedding for my bedroom set!
Comments (7)I'd like to see a pinch pleat curtain with this bedroom set. I have JC Penny pinch pleat curtains with a cloth tab behind the pleats. You just slip them on the rods. Do you have the rods mounted above the windows? You can go with a high mount and longer curtains for a dramatic look. Also a darker pewter grey will pick up the color of the headboard. Agreeing with reitz this is a very casual look for your room. I'd add lights to the bedside tables. It will soften the room considerably. Or consider a wall sconce above the tables to keep the top clear. They need to be tall to keep up with the height of the headboard. This was a very nice gift, and I'm sure you will have many happy years with the furniture. What about a little "glam" for the accents?...See MoreHi Designers! Comments (95)I'm going back and forth on adding in some small streaks of the green and bits of silver. Here's what I'm thinking as of now: 1) Base coat - Color match to the beige/light gray in the pillow that comes with set (see picture of forest green comforter I added above.) 2) Add a FEW streaks ("strie"- the vertical lines), of the green and light gray (or whatever the "beige/light gray" pillow color is). I would add maybe 1 streak of each every 7 - 8 inches. I probably wouldn't even be using a teaspoon of each color for the entire wall. I doubt it would even show in the pictures, but when one is in the room, they would see a very subtle lines of the green and light gray. And if I even change the comforter, I could just paint over the green and light gray streaks. 3) Add the metallic paint (something light and "pearly") as the final coat on the headboard wall. 4) Paint the rest of the walls in the base coat (the beige/ light gray color matched from the pillow.) I really like the "drama" of the forest green comforter against the light walls. I also love that large gold metallic vase in @Molly 's picture. Thinking of doing something like that in a pewter. Now just have to find a massive vase that doesn't cost $300+ dollars....See MorePlease help me I want information on this Bedroom Set
Comments (12)Unfortunately your pictures aren't that good so it is hard to tell exactly what this is or even what the material it is. However, it looks to me like furniture that was sold in the 1980's as there was a lot of "lacquered" finished furniture popular. The style is not really Art Deco but does resemble the kind of Art Deco inspired designs. I had lacquered dining room chairs that had a similar feel with curved backs and a living room sofa with a curved back and arms. Think Miami Vice style furniture. As others have said, without knowing what you are trying to determine it is hard to help you. The value of used furniture is what people are willing to pay and I don't think this furniture would be a particularly desirable style unless you found someone who wanted to decorate in true groovy retro style. Furniture from this era can range from relatively expensive stuff that was sold by Roche Bobois or cheap stuff that was sold in low end stores....See MoreRyan Fehr
