*BM White Cloud and Cloud White are different colors! I have Cloud White, and Cloud White is the color I hear more often, not White Cloud! Ironically, I was thinking about those two similar names with the intention of NOT typing the wrong one... Confession: I mixed a couple shades of white I was unhappy with together, and the resulting color match is the same formula as the color match to Cloud White (total coincidence). In that sense, I didn't even pick my white, and I had actually already rejected Cloud White as being too "creamy" for my space. Now that it's done...I like it and it's warm, not stark. All that rambling to say that you'll probably be just fine even if your conditions aren't perfect, with lighting and flooring, etc. in place. :)

I don't like glaringly white cabinets. I think that off-white cabinets or taupish gray cabinets are much better. Something about very white bright cabinets reminds me of my mother trying to paint an old piece of furniture, and the more she painted the brighter it got and the brighter it got, the more dings in the wood you could see and it just went from bad to worse. Finally (I had figured this out from watching her), I painted it an ivory color when she was at work one day and she loved it. I was only 10 years old and she decided I was a genius and sent me to school to study art. After a few weeks, the instructor called her suggesting I might do better in demolition.

I would either lean to the bottom row left hand side for a more monochromatic look like boysrus2 said or, the natural stain for more contrast. My wood floors(that I am keeping) are close to the natural color in your sample. My island(as of today and subject to change) will be a quartersawn oak in natural and my perimeter cabs will be black(also subject to change). So my contrast will be the black and natural floor. If you go with the natural floor, both your colors will contrast vs. only the island if you stain the floors similar to your perimeter cabs. Are there any easy decisions?? LOL!!

We had planned on Bodbyn cabs, but because of the sale, too many were out of stock, so we opted for Diamond cabs with slab doors in Storm gray. I think the Costa Rose granite would have looked great with them, it is a pretty granite with a lot of movement but low contrast colors so it does not loo too busy. If it had been my kitchen, I'd have opted for Corian Silver Birch or Arrowroot I think.
