That seems to be a common problem with white quartz, because it's usually a little gray. I like your cabinets, and would not repaint brand new ones. Can you play with backsplash options and see if you can find something NON-white that makes a difference? You might have to paint that area walls a slightly creamier white also. Daylight always plays tricks on whites...one wall looks great, and the next one does not. I understand being upset, but your kitchen is not complete yet.

Edited: extra white (if he accidentally used it) can have a blueish undertone and would fight with a creamier cabinet color.

I think the wall color appears to be skewing bluish, rather than the color of the cabinets appearing yellow. I think I would adjust the wall color before anything else. Which way do your windows face?

I agree with both of you. I tend to think the wall color isn’t correct. I have cloe white tiles for the backsplash, which includes some greys also. Our windows face south.

If the white label on the bucket lid says “extra white” the painter got the wrong color. SW Pure White is slightly gray, less blue than SW Extra White.

Mama Cita, it actually says Pure White on the label. I’m going to wait on him to roll the last coat, but I already have someone lined up to paint the cabinets either Pure White or Agreeable Grey…I really wanted a white kitchen 😏

I cannot imagine painting brand new cabinets! Paint the walls a different color!

I think your cabinets look great. The wall color is what looks a bit cold to me. I would consider a different wall color and leave the cabinets. I think they look lovely.

The entire house is the same color and very open so there’s not a good spot to end another color? Keep in mind the walls aren’t finished being painted but they’re definitely not going any creamier. This pic is the living room. The quartz countertops totally changed the look of the kitchen and the cabinets. I’m at a loss. The best scenario is to paint the cabinets, I’m afraid.

I would not paint the cabinets.
Leave it as is until everything is complete.
Then adjust the lighting.

Then do a backsplash

And then, we can assess the cabinets if you still don’t like it. But I think you will.
Painting new cabinets is something you can’t undo. This is what I’d personally do.

Another vote for do not paint the cabinets. Your kitchen isn't finished so all of it looks a bit stark right now. Finish it, live with it for a while. The flooring will make a difference in how light reflects from your cabinets too. I don't think its your cabinets, your wall paint is reading ever so slightly blue to me. With furniture in place and window treatments if you are using those, it may not.

FYI, while I didn't remodel this kitchen, its white walls, white cabinets, white appliances, tan backsplash and dark mostly brown counters. None of the whites are a match. I put in a glass breakfast table with walnut base and lived in, it all ties together.

The base for Pure White is Extra White base which is why both are noted on the label.

The color known as Extra White is SW's Extra White base with no tint.

When you get everything in there, especially the floor, the differences in the whites won't be nearly as noticeable - if at all.

Hi, first of all your cabinets look very nice. You probsbly like colder undertones and SW Pure White has warm a little yellow undertone. Hint of cream. It is a very popular color but yes it is a little warm color in nature. I have seen so many pictures with this color and they have different creamy or not so creamy lookS. I suggest to check your ligthing to more white and also once you place the accessories it will all bend together.

I am currently like you in line to get my cabinets painted white and i have been in the rabit hole with white colors for way too long. I learned a lot more I needed to know about white colors. Your wooden hood by the way looks very nice. Add some decor and watch it transform. I am guessing you like more cooler undertones like BM Oxford or if you need whiter without creamy Chantaly Lace. However, Add some decor and lighting and you will lose some of the yellow. I think your walls are gray so maybe gray makes the creamy pop out more. I am sure you can make it work without repainting the cabinets.

By the way what kind of paint did you use? Oil paint can make white look yellow sometimes I think. What Brand is it? SW Emerald Urethane Trim or BM Advanced Waterborn Alkyd or lacquer type? these should be waterbased so curious what you used.
