I think if I re-work the room this way it might fit better. I'm not sure abut a chaise-sectional because I worry it won't be comfortable to sit on the chaise side and look at the fire: This room is used the most in the fall & winter. I was thinking sectional sofa because it would give space for laying down and sitting. When we have people over, it's nice to have a conversation grouping but when it's just us and the dog a sectional seems like it allows for more lazy lounging. I like the look of this, it just needs to swap which side gets the long versus short piece: So it would be a corner + 1 arm chair piece + 1 loveseat piece. I need to find out if these pieces can fit into the dimensions on the plan (sectional on the floor plan is 6' by 7'8", or 72" x 92"). I like the corner piece on this style because it has a teeny bit of leg room. I don't think it's enough leg room that someone would sit there and hang their legs down, but if you are sitting on either side of the corner you aren't fighting for foot space as much. I think/hope it works out that way, at least.

So - the cabinet housing the dishwasher is a separate cabinet from the ones on either side right? The floor of the cabinet isn't continuous into the cabinets to the left or right I presume? One - I'd tell your cabinet guy to make you a new cabinet. If he had the specs for the DW and screwed up, he needs to make a new box. It's not like he's ordering new doors or anything - it's a simple box. Costs him $50 to make a new one. That being said, I'd sort of think a FP drawer dishwasher is designed to fit in a standard cabinet height. Or are they even intended to be installed 'in' a cabinet? Normally a dishwasher doesn't have a cabinet of course - it sits between two cabinets spaced 24" apart. Do you have pics of what you're working with and the model number of your DW?

Thanks everyone for your comments. There are a lot of HST in the quilt. I made up little sections and joined then together into bigger squares, then into the block. Lots of cutting out and checking for correct colour placement. Yes, they do love the quilt - even the reverse "plain" side. They intend using the reverse side in Winter and the patterned side in Summer. Now my daughter & her fiance have chosen a quilt for me to do for them this year. Fortunately it is much easier to do, so shouldn't take as long to complete. They have chosen black & white, maybe with a little red, for their colours. I've always wanted to use these colours, so I'm really happy to finally be using them. Kristene.

I do think Patricia is right. When I was a kid we (my parents plus me) would go to visit an aunt and uncle who had a sectional in their living room. This was a very long time ago and my first exposure to a sectional, but I remember dreading visiting there. It was always so awkward. My parents each took an end with an arm and my aunt sat in the corner. My uncle would drag in a dining chair for himself. I ended up always sitting on the floor because I guess I was of an age where cuddling up to my parents was not ok with me. So please think long and hard about who will use the sectional. They essentially have two middle of the sofa seats and many people just don't like to sit there.
