Large brown leather sectional
This is what I need to work with: this large, brown leather, recliner sectional and wall to wall carpeting. I can live with the paint color. Actually, it would be nice to not have to paint. It's a split level home and the living room has cathedral ceilings and also overlooks the dining room/entrance level. It would involve having to rent scaffolding and would probably take me weeks to complete. But, then again, I'm not opposed to having a new color.
I'm thinking some more pillows, in cream/ivory, and maybe a pop of rust. New end tables, new coffee table. Instead of table lamps, a floor lamp behind the wedge piece. New and smaller artwork. Sliding glass door area need new drapes. Those would be closed most of the time because it looks directly into the back of a neighbors house. I was considering getting a matching drape for the window behind the sofa, but maybe it should be something like a roman shade instead? The drapes now seem like they might be too much behind the sofa. Also considering an area rug that would lay over the area rug.

Comments (5)I had checked out their website already and it sounds good. I just want to make sure that it's a quality product and not one of those "you get what you pay for" things. Have you gotten your sofa yet and are you happy with it? What about the quality of the fabric and the feel of the cushions? I want a sofa that is pretty cushy and I was going to upgrade to the down option. Please let me know your impressions - it would be really helpful. I was also researching a sofa from Carolinachair.com. They seem to have a little bit better quality and better fabric choices, but the sofa I want is also about $2,000 more and I don't know that it's worth spending the extra money. Comments (4)I love brown and gray together. I am furnishing my new to us house that also has gray walls and white trim. I just purchased a dark gray sofa and am in the process of pulling everything else together. I have dark wood furniture in the room. I notice that your sofa has nail head trim and I think it ties in with the nailhead on the ottoman. I love how rooms look collected, not just like someone purchased a showroom collection with all of the matching accessories. Comments (2)First I want to address the TV....it is much too high. When you get the furniture for under it, please lower it to comfortable viewing height. The sectional looks good for watching TV but needs lighting. Can you pull it out from the wall a toot or so? Then put a floor lamp on the right side or you could use a chair side table which is narrower than most with a lamp on it. Match the table on the other side of your sectional or put a floor lamp and a pretty decorative garden stool for people to put their drinks/coffee. And yes, an ottoman would be nice and maybe even an area rug to make it feel soft and homier. I am not sure you need drapes/curtains...blinds are nice. Good luck.....See Moreteerohn

2 years agoPillows will always slide on a leather couch. Try bolster pillows instead of square if you absolutely must have pillows. If you keep the green wall color and the orange-y posters, try dark pillows with green and orange patterns.

2 years agoWhat do you use this room for? I would definitely have the same curtains on both the slider and the window. Most of you finishes are hard and shiny in this room so the curtains will bring in some needed softness. I would go fuller on the curtains on both also, use 2 sets on each and bring them out wider than the window. A floor lamp would look nice in there instead of one of the table lamps. Look for something with a fabric shade.
I wouldn't go any smaller with the artwork either, it's a good size for your room and right now is adding the only pattern/movement that you have in the room. .
Here are some pillow samples that would tie some of the colors that you have in the room together and also add some different textures to the room.
