RECIPE: Slice & Bake Lemon Crisps
Comments (28)Well, now I need to open up my Land O'Lakes butter to see what recipe is inside of them!! Curiosity!!! However, just to be on safe side, I'm copying the recipe you have listed. I think that super fine sugar would stick on the cookies possibly easier than the regular grind sugar???!! What do you think? I have both so will test to see. Might also do some in the Orange and LIme. Have them all in refrig. right now. Ginger, the folks at your employment, the neighborhood and 3D friends much love you dearly with all of your great recipes. You are much too thin to be downing them all.....I know ,because, I do eat nearly all of my viddles and it shows...LOL Hugs,...See MoreLemons, Lemons & MO Lemons!
Comments (11)You don't need to make a simple syrup with water and sugar - you can simply combine the sugar with the lemon juice and add the water later. That makes much better lemonade, and lemon juice dissolves the sugar without any cooking or boiling. This method seems to reduce the acidity of the lemon juice and gives it a very smooth flavor. However, this does not use the lemon zest, but you can save lemon rinds in the freezer for when you make chicken stock. I just got a new Meyer lemon tree, and I have it in a wine barrel planter until I can get my yard ready to plant it in the ground. I think I can leave it in the planter for a couple of years, and I plan to get a lime tree as soon as I find the kind I want. I felt horrible when I left my citrus/fig/mango trees in Venice, but I will replace what I need as soon as possible. Lars...See MoreRECIPE: Healthier baking mix & lemon pancakes

Comments (9)Well, the pie came out excellent. The evaporated milk and cream went into the pie, not as a topping. I did not think that the recipe would make a difference as my question pertained to pies that come out of the oven with the center that can still giggle. The recipe called to 15 - 17 min of cooking at 350d and I let it stay in for another 3 minutes. What I realized is that for all pies that come out with the center giggling that it continues to cook/set while cooling so as long as 1" around the 9" dish is firm and it still looks as if the center is liquid, it is good and makes for an excellent cooked center after all. It was velvety, suede, smooth, and firm. The surface was clean without cracks or splits. (I wonder what would happen if I simply turned the oven off after 17 minutes...) No poking the center to see if something comes out clean, Just trust the recipe. BTW, it was from America's Test Kitchen. The recipe is for a North Carolina Lemon Pie. Side note: for other recipes when I test to see if a cake is done, I use a cotton swab instead of using a toothpick. I find I have better results. Of course, it was not needed for this one....See More- 4 years ago
