Another Source for Masks
Comments (100)Mine arrived yesterday. Love the prints, the fit and quality looks good. Mine are either silk with cotton lining (filter insert pocket) or a silk spandex blend with cotton lining. Out of five patterns, there is one that looks 'Hawaiian' DH could wear without feeling silly. Although he has olson style and pleated already. And this week he saw an ad for Tommie Copper adjustable ear strap 'antibacterial property' masks. He's a Tommie Copper fan and wears one of the compression sleeves often on his arthritic knee - he's convinced it helps and for the price I have no reason to argue with him ;0). He asked me to order the Tommie Copper masks for him, reasoning we may be wearing them at least occasionally the next several months, and I've done that. I've rec'd a notice of shipped and a USPS tracking number just today so I can't speak to their quality. Plain black, no choices there....See Morewhat kind of mask do you wear?
Comments (52)OutsidePlaying I usually wear the disposable masks. I have a partial box in the car in a zip lock bag along with some disposable gloves. We also have a few N95’s and I have some very good fabric masks that fit me well with adjustable ear pieces I ordered from The Sak (yes, the handbag company). They had sent me a free one, and I liked it so much I ordered more and gave a couple to my DD. My face is narrow and my head is small so it is nice to find something that fits my nose bridge well without nearly covering my eyes, even after adjusting the metal band. I always have to adjust the ear pieces by tying another knot but these have an adjustable slide on the ear piece. ~~~~ Hi OutsidePlaying -- I looked up The Sak masks -- and the care instructions say, "Machine wash, gentle cycle, cold water." (!!!) I don't get it. Here I am checking the water temperature for my mask washing -- it's supposed to be HOT -- and they are telling you to wash in cold water! What's the point of that? I've washed my own masks 100 and more times in very hot water and they are still fine....See MoreLax mask wearing in medical offices
Comments (26)About 4 or 5 months ago, I went to the chiropractor in desperate need of adjustments. Walked in and NO ONE was wearing masks. There must have been 12 to 15 staff & the Dr there. (And most of the staff are under 30. Party crowd) I was escorted into the exam room promptly, and while I was face down on the table, I asked the assistant why no one was wearing masks. She gave me some stock answer about how "chiropractors are known as the 'flu' doctors" -- how during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, chiropractors & those who received treatments & adjustments from them didn't "get the flu." So in essence, they think they are safe. She also told me if I was uncomfortable she would put on a mask. I told her I was uncomfortable. I made my next appointment. And as soon as I got in the car, I was on the phone to the county health dept. hot line to report businesses that were not in compliance w/the mask mandate. I received a follow up from the Health Dept -- they'd gone to the Chiro office and gave them masks and I guess a "chewing out" for not complying. At my next appointment, I parked right in front of the door. I could see through the window they were STILL NOT wearing masks. I called and cancelled all the rest of my appointments. I am still in desperate need of some adjustments, but I will not go back to that office. E.V.E.R. Soon as we are cleared to get out, I'll find a new chiro. Until then, I guess I'll just stretch and make do. I just do not understand why they don't take it seriously....See MoreWearing two KN95 masks at once
Comments (50)“Please consider a virtual visit” is more of a suggestion. ”Please reschedule to a virtual visit” would be more of a directive. Anyway just picked up my kids, and they reported on the first day of lifted mandate. Most kids did not wear masks, but some did. The only ones who got any grief, rightfully so, were the under-nosers. My daughter’s math teacher flipped out on one who kept adjusting her mask. ”Why don’t you just take it off?” ”Because I want to stay safe.” ”What are you trying to save, your chin?!” 😂 And my daughter’s ”hallway crush” is no longer a crush. Apparently he’s not as cute as she had imagined him to be, behind his mask....See Morebbstx
