You might want to document your experience and call the parent company and ask to speak to the CEO (which you won't get on the phone, but you can leave a msg with executive assistant). Then send an email stating the same to the CEO. Followed by snail mail of email to CEO.

Yes, should be reported. Have no patience for this! If you could see what our DD & her colleagues are doing in preparation for students returning to the classroom next week.....it's impressive & might I say exhausting. But kudos to them & not to that medical facility!!

I went to the dentist last week (filling fell out) and ... they took my temp, had double masks on, and wouldn’t let DH even sit in the waiting room.

My dad is going through health issues — his main doctor is pretty much only doing phone conferences. If patients have to be seen, they wait in vehicles until their appt is called up.

Plus, write down, so you don't forget, the day and time you were there and the descriptions of the staff you interacted with. What you overheard--all of it. The day and time is so the executives can direct middle mgmt to the culprits and middle mgmt can figure out who it was. If you saw or heard names, write that down too, then write your letter. Don't waste your time talking to the on-site manager because he/she is going to go into immediate cya mode.

Definitely let the corporate headquarters know. If it’s a LabCorp or Quest, I know they like to receive feedback.

Jinx, I was charged $75 to see my dentist outside while I sat in my car and he was six feet away! lol We both figured out my problem and I made an appt. for the following week.

Terriks, I told this story last summer and because this is a small town I didn't want to make waves. Our pharmacy is in the same one story building as a medical office & they share a lobby. None of them had masks on. Not the pharmacist, the nurses, the pharm. techs, none of the customers, nobody but me.

I think word got out though because shortly afterwards they delivered meds to our car after calling from the parking lot, and now they built a drive through. Imagine that.

No, not OK! As others mentioned I would call the parent company. I have never had any issues at the doctor, dentist, or CVS.

I've sent an email to patient relations. This is a large local medical network with several hospitals, labs, etc. I have a mammogram scheduled for next week - when they call to remind me of my appointment I'm going to ask them what their Covid protocol is.

That is unacceptable and I would probably have left, and also complained. I have been to my allergist, a lab and my dentist since March and all have impressed me with their safety measures.

This is old news. I’ve posted lots of times about how clinics I work in as a vendor are not adhearing to the recommended safe practices. The worst offenders are the private practices that don’t have hospital oversite to contend with. Since I’m not able to insist that masks be worn while I’m there, I’ve started to advise that the only way I can come to service their clinic is if they provide me with a work space that is separate from the rest of the office population. At the very least, it’s disappointing.

Last week middle age adults ages 35 to 49 were exposed as the greatest transmitter group of recent covid infection. In my school district it is staff going out for breakfast that keep starting our quarantines.

Office staff have all been vaccinated they may falsely believe they can not spread covid. I have two coworkers who feel with masks they can get right next to me this worries me more than a person six feet away from me sans a mask.

You all thought I was being contrary when I said my DH’s surgeon (and several of the nurses in day surgery) scoffed at mask-wearing. They did. That was back in July.

Yesterday, I had a friend say that her Covid luck may have run out. She is an RN, and has been working in a Covid unit. Honestly, I was shocked that they would allow a person with such severe asthma do that, but they are desperate, I suppose. She was musing about not wanting to miss work, needing the money, and when asked about that, she said they are allowed to work as long as they are not febrile. OK, then. SMH...

Well, my friend's husband works at a hospital, not in a covid ward, and he got covid at work even with being careful. So I wouldn't take this situation lightly. Three people I know have gotten covid from family members who worked in medical situations, none worked with covid patients. Two died. The issue is frequency of diverse human contact. That's the problem with all the service professions, lots of different people in contact with you every day.

I got a call back from the company that runs the lab today. They wanted to know all the particulars of what happened. Hopefully it helps.

Yes Pink! We have friends who’s daughter works in a local er. She has had covid twice! Our medical personnel need to protect themselves, as well as others.

I have several friends who are nurses, as I'm sure many of you do. It's a tough gig under the best of circumstances, and now this . . . as Rosanna Rosannadanna says, "It's always something!"

About 4 or 5 months ago, I went to the chiropractor in desperate need of adjustments. Walked in and NO ONE was wearing masks. There must have been 12 to 15 staff & the Dr there. (And most of the staff are under 30. Party crowd)

I was escorted into the exam room promptly, and while I was face down on the table, I asked the assistant why no one was wearing masks. She gave me some stock answer about how "chiropractors are known as the 'flu' doctors" -- how during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, chiropractors & those who received treatments & adjustments from them didn't "get the flu." So in essence, they think they are safe. She also told me if I was uncomfortable she would put on a mask. I told her I was uncomfortable.

I made my next appointment. And as soon as I got in the car, I was on the phone to the county health dept. hot line to report businesses that were not in compliance w/the mask mandate.

I received a follow up from the Health Dept -- they'd gone to the Chiro office and gave them masks and I guess a "chewing out" for not complying. At my next appointment, I parked right in front of the door. I could see through the window they were STILL NOT wearing masks. I called and cancelled all the rest of my appointments.

I am still in desperate need of some adjustments, but I will not go back to that office. E.V.E.R. Soon as we are cleared to get out, I'll find a new chiro. Until then, I guess I'll just stretch and make do.

It's the same at my chiro's office pudgeder. I used to be an admin assistant at a chiro's office, and let's just say the belief in modern science is 'different'.<< I'm being nice here.

If I didn't require chiro adjustments, I would definitely not be going in for appts until this is all over.

@pudgeder & see see, If you want manipulative treatment, may try seeing a DO physician, as they're taught that skill in medical school. An orthopedic DO is most likely to provide manipulative treatment. Added benefit is DO's are licensed physicians, and usually board certified.

This is so disconcerting. I have had to go to my GP and to an ortho during covid, and mask wearing was strictly enforced. My chiropractor was a different story. I went last April and have not been back. The only people wearing masks were the receptionist and me. I need an adjustment badly, and will find a new chiropractor when things feel safer.

I just talked yesterday to a friend whose elderly father got covid from his physical therapist. He has Alzheimers and the therapist came to see him at his home. Wore mask the whole time. He needed the therapy because he was losing a lot of physical ability including swallowing. Thankfully he got over it and so did the therapist. The therapist did everything he could think of to keep from passing it on and still do the therapy. but he had to be in close contact. So this is just an example how even under the best of circumstances, risky stuff is risky stuff and its not fair for people to not do everything they can to minimize risk to their patients, particularly if it is easy peasy stuff.

I've heard claims about chiropractic and immunity, but none of it has been proven scientifically. Just anecdotal. And big studies have been done, the claims are not shown with any clear evidence with regards to immunity.
