Has anyone had success planting Emerald Green Hollies in part shade?

I have an area that gets 2-3 hours of direct sun that I need to cover. I already bought them so if they absolutely wont work I can try another locations.

Edit: Located in Seattle. Here are pictures at 10:30, 12:00, and 13:00 in order. It's not looking good! I suppose I saw the sun on the fence and thought it would reach the planting area. I think I should try yews instead? :x

Open sky directly above the area, but a maple is a few feet south and a Douglas fir a few feet to the southwest west masking some sun.
