Everclean clumps really well. I've never noticed it stuck on my cat's paws. I use the Booda litter boxes so tracking is minimal but it's really the consistency of most clumping litter. It just contains odors much better and it lasts a lot longer. As mentioned, there's a good amount of dust when you first pour some in but I just keep the cats away from it while it settles so no one is actively inhaling it. I wish I could find a natural litter that works but I haven't been able to. I don't like the idea of them breathing in the dust but the natural stuff just can't control the odor for my 3 cats.

Wow - I was surprised to see this old post rise up to the top. As long as it's here I'll share an update. This old cat is still hanging in there but I think he is nearing his final days. He is getting more frail and eating less. He has some anemia and deteriorating kidneys but we have decided not to put him through more vet visits when he seems to be comfortable, peaceful and enjoying the heat registers and his basket by the heat duct. I have only seen evidence of peeing outside the box a couple times since I last posted but I do keep him in the bathroom at night now. It got to the point where he would just go in there himself and curl up in his basket so I decided he kind of liked it. Also, this gives him a chance to have a bowl of food to himself all night. He eats just a little at a time so the other cats would always get his food if they weren't kept away from it. This poor old guy has had a lot of health problems over the years and several times I didn't think he was going to make it. I think he truly is winding down now but it still warms my heart to see him curled up in his basket or on the heat registers or next to us on the sofa or next to the other cats on the bed. I would really like him to go peacefully on his own, at home, if possible if he isn't suffering. Here's a recent picture of him enjoying one of his heat ducts.

I don't know if a cat will use a litter box that had already been used by another cat. They may not really care. But I doubt a person would buy a used litter box, no matter how cheap it is. I had a yard sale a long time ago and tried selling an almost new box. We had filled it with litter, the cat used it once, we realized the box wasn't deep enough and the cat threw litter all over the floor, so we got a deeper one. I put a stupid little note on the box "practically new - only pooped in one time" with a smiley face - $1. A few people looked at it and laughed, but nobody bought it. I think we ended up throwing it away.

Thank you everyone. Rosemi, I think I will use it as mulch for now, as it is just taking up space and it's just too hot for planting roses right now. I mean WAY too hot. Maybe I'll save a little for a rose hole that likes acid. We are accustomed to dry heat, but we had a week of high humidity with high temperatures. I don't know how people tolerate that! Sweat and shower, sweat and shower, I feel so gross! Then one day my phone kept going off with alerts about flash floods and thunderstorms. I dragged every potted plant out into the open and every houseplant outside, with a swollen and sore arm. Not a drop of rain fell! I mad a big mess and effort for nothing. Ok, done with that little rant, but really I don't know how some of you live with that humidity. Sebastian is still doing the same. I'm sick with worry over my baby. He's been with me almost 10 years now. His blood tests did come out perfectly fine, so it's puzzling. He is a very sensitive guy, and often shows signs of distress when I'm unwell, or if he is jealous about his momma loving another kitty. We do have both of those situations going on here at the same time. We will soon find out. Thanks for all your kind words. Lisa
