Can't Find A Coffee Table To Finish My Living Room
My designer and I have been looking for a coffee table so I can actually finish my remodel before I am carted off to that big furniture store in the sky 😁😇
Something not to big - i.e. about 4 to 5 long which rules out anything round or square. Some kind of organic shape would be nice if possible but a rectangle woul also be fine.
Nothing chrome or stainless steel as my finishes are wood and copper and patinaed brass.
Anything that is all glass or mostly glass and lucite would disappear and just not balance out the rest of the stuff.
Something that has a bit of substance but not too heavy - e.g. something with glass or mirror top which has substance but also isn't unduly heavy feeling.
I have no idea why coffee/cocktail tails are so difficult to locate - about 90% of them look the same.
Within reason price is no object and I can source anywhere through my designer.
The end table to the left of the sofa in the picture is exiting and I have an end table which I would buy but I don't want to until I have selected the coffee table to make sure they work together.
I will most probably get a nice upholstered bench for under the window to finish off the seating. I don't need a lot of seating for my entertainment needs and I don't want to clutter up the space.
This would work if the top weren't wood but a smoked mirror or other dark but not matte surface but the shape and size and configuration are good.
Here are pictures of my living room - the stuff under the windows will be gone as they are just waiting to be evicted 😃

What about a vintage Labarge? There are several styles of them, this one caught my eye for your room (great price until you get to the shipping part, yikes. But there are lots out there, maybe even local). Just showing as an example:

Comments (19)If you get a pedestal table, you can put little kid chair next to it & it would be an instant playtable (I do that) :-) Depending on the size that you want, you can buy a pedestal dining or side table and have it cut down to the height you like. Somehow it's always easier to get pedestal dining/side table than coffee table. Some even come w/ the side leaf that can be closed up or down. My friend did this to her old dining table and it's perfect. When you want more room to play, open it up. When it's not used, close it down for more space. Comments (8)oops, Denita, no pics. here are a few from the Houzz store, just for brainstorming. there are lots of consoles that combine housing for the cable box et al with lots of extra cupboard space, so you should have plenty of options. Ikea makes a lot of great pieces in this particular category too, so you could look there. Comments (14)That's where I'm struggling, it's hard for us to do everything at once so we will probably have to replace one thing at a time...As much as I would love to do it all now lol. It is a work in progress but we are trying to at least have a plan so we know what we will get when we can get it. I'm not not good at this. The coffee table looks a little worse in person because it is really old and it doesn't while up well. 2 years agoIf you say so, but in all the photos, a good portion of the rug is not visable. For instance, the chair is covering so much of the pattern.
Anyway, if the sofa were positioned at the green field, which is plain, I would do a green table over it, like this Miles Redd.
