Living room (Help with Coffee table)
Comments (11)Couple of suggestions...when you say piece by piece - and I assume decisions are made that way as well - I would sit back and think about the room as a whole and what pieces would lend itself to that look and your needs - more seating, side table, floor lamps, art, etc. Looking at lots of pictures will help you define a look as well as trigger ideas on individual pieces; ie: coffee table - see ideas below - you should measure out what would fit best. First thing I would do though is try your couch on the opposite wall and center it. Add a large piece of art or series of large prints above to create a needed focal wall. The low unit (and I assume tv to come) would work fine on the other wall. The rug is not the right size - either just under the coffee table or the size in second picture. When you can, drapery on the sliding door would warm up the space and I would bring in a rustic element to tie in with the barnwood - leather chair, tables, artwork that had some brown in it, your rug choice, etc. I have attached a link to Pinterest Scandinavian living rooms with grey couches and you may get some inspiration on accessorizing as well as coffee tables. You could go round, rectangle - stacking tables may work better or a square. https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=scandinavian%20living%20room%20with%20grey%20couch&rs=typed&term_meta[]=scandinavian%20living%20room%20with%20grey%20couch%7Ctyped...See MoreFinish my living room - coffee table help
Comments (17)Haha, I thought that is what decorating was all about? Does the color not have to match something I already have, especially if I want to keep it minimal? (Genuine question - this is all over my head) If I was eclectic that would be a different story. Does the style have to match? what about: https://www.crateandbarrel.com/ethan-rectangular-coffee-table/s442632...See MoreNeed Help with living room arrangement and coffee table!

Comments (12)I'm a fan of #2. I always like the look of two club chairs side by side like that. I think having them together as one unit balances out the heft of a sofa and the huge TV. I agree that it makes sense to focus on the coffee table first. Are there any textures in your room? If everything is just flat wood, paint, and upholstery, I'd suggest a coffeetable that has a bit or texture or reflectivity to it. What kind of books are you looking to store in this room? I got a three tired brass and glass coffee table from West Elm recently and it is a fantastic place to display 12 huge art books. Better than a bookshelf. When people sit on the sofa, they actually gaze that the books, pull them out and read them. I like that....See MoreMalika Gupta
