Need some ideas, to sell or not? Where to go with produce.
Comments (11)Thank you all for the advice. Jay, I'll email you my information, I see from your posts that you sell at Farmer's Markets I'd like to know how you got started. Thanks for the offer to help! I would love to go as organic as possible since the trees are in my back yard and I have little ones, but we have not decided yet. We wanted to see how things were going to turn out this year with minimal care. We were too late to spray a dormant oil, we did get to spray some Serenade and we might still spray with Surround if I can find a good reliable source. I learned about bagging fruit so I did a few. I've been a gardner but this is my first time dealing with fruit trees. The trees were in bad condition so we spent most of our time cleaning up and prunning. I'll look into cider pressing. Thanks!...See MoreMany Hosta Lists!!! Where should I post them?
Comments (27)That's great about HostaLib. Your lists will be a great asset there! About Papou's comment "Why dont you publish an unexpensive loose-leaf 3-ring binder style document.", I just wanted to mention that one year, when I wanted to make calanders for Christmas presants, I bought a GBC brand "CombBind C50" from one of the office supply stores (Staples, Office Depot, Office Max - one of those). It cuts the holes and puts a plastic ring type binder in (the sort you see in recipe books that various organizations sell for fund raisers). It was a little pricy, maybe $50 - $60 plus supplies, but it's easy to use and makes a nice booklet. I'm glad I bought it and plan to use it for other things besides calanders. If you (or your wife) are into any kinds of crafts it might be something you'd like to look into. Of course, doing it that way, you'd have to make the booklets yourself. Just a thought....See Morelisted on Craigs list-not selling :(
Comments (7)Check ebay and see what your items are selling for and then try listing on CL at a comparable price. We've sold exercise equipment on CL and if it is a top-of-the-line brand it should eventually sell, but first check CL to see if there are several others listed. If there are many of the same items up for sale on CL, your chances of selling it are slim.....unless you put a really low price on it. I recently considered selling a crib mattress that was rarely used, but after seeing there were 1 1/2 pages of crib mattresses on CL I ended up donating it. I've found with CL that you need to keep relisting. I will sometimes take it off for a week or so, but I usually just keep the ad going. You may be able to sell the curtains on ebay, but again, check the Completed Listings for actual sale prices....See MoreRevisiting Book Club book lists
Comments (4)Hi Carolyn -- It's good to be remembered. I guess I just got busy. We moved (downsized) in 2011 and yet we still have two storage areas of "stuff" to go through, and, I hope, get rid of. And I waste too much time on Facebook. I still check in here on occasion, though, to see how you all are doing and what you are reading. I'll try to check in more often. Reading books for two book clubs and reading my own choices in between keeps me busy reading. But like all of you, I love it. Sorry to hijack you thread, Paula. Just to bring us back to the topic I will post some of last year's book club reads. :-) 2013 List - It was a pretty good year.
