Koger recently started delivering in my area. There are no Kroger stores where we live in Florida. They have built a huge distribution site about 70 miles away. So far, using their delivery has been an excellent experience. easy website to order, delivery at time promised, frozen food came frozen, etc. They advertise ”no tipping” but the delivery guys accept it after they say ”tipping is not expected” (as they are directed by Kroger).

I tip the pizza delivery guy minimum $5. If I use a credit card, a little more since they may get a percentage removed to pay for the transaction. Depending upon what they do, it may be $10 or a bit extra. I would probably do the same for another service. I haven't had anything delivered by a service.

We only get pizza delivered, but I always pay cash with exact change for the bill AND a separate tip which I inform the delivery person is for him. That way he doesn't lose out, and doesn't have to make change. Tip is $10 unless order is extra-large or complicated.

I used to do the tips in cash. Pizza places were going 'no contact' and some places didn't want to deal with cash so I started tipping on the credit card.

Maddielee, when I ordered Kroger delivery, a tip was added to the amount and I could choose to keep it, or not. After, the first time I chose to keep it on the charge, because the poor lady had to deliver in the rain and I didn't want her to wait for cash.

The pandemic has messed up everything, including tipping the people who work so hard to make deliveries in all kinds of weather.

Some grocery stores suggest 3 tips, small medium and large, and I pick each time depending on circumstance or make up my own amount- the weather, the groceries (if I buy heavy items like cat litter, etc.) but also on service.

Although I describe exactly where my apartment is located there have been a few times when it was delivered to the wrong apartment across the street. and I tipped the neighborhood kids to bring my groceries over (the lady who lives there gets wrong deliveries all the time, her apartment number is the same as the street number and the delivery people get them confused)

There's a slight complexity for occasional delivery folks to find my locations. USPS, FedEx and UPS, etc, know what to do, others don't and GPS directions are often the cause of the problem.

I always include adequate instructions on where to go and what to do, and a caution about GPS caused problems. Some still struggle, go the wrong way, and call. Tips for those get lowered, tips for those who can follow the simple instructions get a small bump.
