Thank you all! I am such a newbie, I didn't know I could ask to have the slab moved. Learn somethin' new every day. I don't know that there's anywhere else to cut corners. We are going with Ikea cabinets and are planning to do sheet vinyl (or vinyl tile) for the floor. We aren't replacing any of our appliances. We are even leaving most of the lighting, just adding a bit where needed. The project is still costing a bloody fortune because we're putting in a slider and a window, and we're moving the sink and fridge (need plumbing). And we're tearing up the floor to make it stop squeaking. We have almost 84 s.f. of countertop to cover (including the island). It's a lot! So any upgrade to granite costs me another $1000 per price group. Bianco Sardo is Group A, Jet Mist is Group C. I must say ... I do love the jet mist and I think my husband will love it, too -- he was really gravitating to grey when we were looking at things online. He hasn't seen it in person yet. I also LOVED Fantasy Brown (quartzite) and was thinking that we could do the island with that and do laminate on the perimeter if push came to shove. Green Designs, those are lovely -- they're both Formica, yes? I will have to get some more quotes to see if I can get the Jet Mist for less. I believe the current place would charge me $67/s.f. for it. I haven't a clue if that's a good price or not ...

Thanks Corie. Great to know! I considered swapping the Moravian star and the PB bell. I worry their sizes won't fit the different spaces appropriately. The bell is 13.5" diameter, 17" high. Think that's too big for a 4' hallway with 9' ceilings? The star is 13" diameter and would hang over the front door on a 25'w x 10'h x 8'd covered porch. I should do the balloon trick to test it out.....

@mrspete, do you think better if I switch to rectangular mirror? Or keep simiplifying even more? This is purely opinion, but I like the fancy mirror ... I'd change the vanity. Why? Because I'd rather "go simple" with the more permanent items. It's easy to change out a mirror later. Chrome and polished nickel are classics I think this topic gets too much attention. Once the room is put together, I don't think anyone really notices the metal -- as long as they match and as long as you're in the "expected-for-faucets" silver family. If you branch out into the trendy brass tones, then I think people notice.

Thank you all so much for your helpful comments. The ottomans are the same fabric as the bed, but with the heavier tufting. The fabric on the new sleeper sofa is more of a tweed, and color is similar to the dressers. The loveseat is an ivory color. We already have a sleeper sofa downstairs - I added the sleeper to the master at the recommendation of someone who is a vacation rental expert in the area. It would bring the total it could sleep from 12 to 14. Although, I agree I wouldn't want the kids with me in the master it would at least provide another sleeping option if we had a large group. I can see now where the ottomans look very heavy in that corner of the room and moving them to the end of the bed or another room altogether would help. Do you think any of these sofas/fabrics are a better option in the room?
