MadPlanter1, the coloring is quite intense on your RE. Gorgeous. Thisismelissa, it is possible that my RE is mislabeled, but it is very young and perhaps needs time to develop. I got this RE from a friend who purchased a few bareroot hostas and passed one along to me. I am not familiar with the place she got them from. Babka, I had a look at June Fever and I do see similarities. I agree that I need more time to sort it out. Sometimes it is fairly easy to say what hosta it is not, rather than knowing what hosta it definitely is. Thanks everyone. You have given me a good idea of what I should expect RE to look like.

I've never been in a kayak but now that you've enlightened me they are so smooth, I'll try it if I get another chance. We always water ski and tube out on the lake. Come to think of it I haven't water skied since I pulled my groin bad getting up the last time. All I do is ride the waves in the tube and try to stay on. Serendipity, I've never tried snowshoeing. I always wanted to but didn't pursue it. I can remember when I didn't miss many weekends snow skiing. Now I have no desire to drive up the mountain to get there. I do still love to hike. I haven't taken DGD sledding this year but hope to do this once it warms up. Stay warm and safe. Punk

Mine is 2 cm quartz with a built-up edge on top of 5/8" plywood. My old cab boxes were painted in-place and looks like they also did the underside of the plywood. I don't remember asking them to do that. Back in the day when I had a tile counter, the plywood was just left unfinished, pretty ugly.

I forget that other cacti & succulent fanciers don't have access to pumice as readily as those of us in California do, but I'm sure that other forum members can recommend a suitable substitute. I happened to be in Lowes and since I was running low on pumice, I thought I'd see if they carried any. HA! I asked one of the employees and he said yes, as he turned in the direction of the shelves. Then, over his shoulder, he said, "...well, we have perlite...it's kind of like the same thing..." NOT AT ALL the same thing, that annoying floaty stuff! Tyler
