Powder Room Tile and Color Ideas

We are totally remodeling a small powder room, and want advice regarding tiles and colors that will hold up to a lot of use, but still be interesting.

We really like the concept of a feature tile wall.

The sink in mind is a modern white pedestal.

The powder room will be used by people coming over but also it's situated in a play area for kids, and right when you come in from the back yard. I assume it will enjoy a lot of traffic, and also dirt and mess from the yard and crafts.

The colors we like are white, black, gray, possibly touches of blue. Definitely not doing warm tones at all.

We want to do something fun but also durable and easy to clean.

The floor will most likely be 12x24s dark grey porcelain.

What color combination of tile and paint will look good? I thought about dark paint like charcoal or turquoise or navy, but I have a feeling it shows wear really fast. Our whole house is very light gray, but I have an itch to make this one room a little more exciting.

Wallpaper is not entirely out of the question but I can't imagine it staying good-as-new for long. I don't have any experience but I just worry I'll notice flaws where the sheets meet.

Thanks for any ideas!
