The Sunroom/Dining Room and End
Comments (7)Lovely tree in a lovely room. You did a wonderful job on it. I love your nativity. It's so delicate looking. I had a sunroom in my old house, and miss it..yours looks just wonderful. I would spend lots of time in there and just read and enjoy all the sunlight. I'm not sure if I had asked you before or not..is that Angel Hair vintage? I haven't seen it around anymore. Where did you find yours? jane...See MoreLiving Room, family room, sitting room, sun room eye candy!
Comments (43)What Mini-Splits Look Like in Your Home what do these systems look like in your home, you ask? https://www.ductless-mini-split-air-conditioner.org/ Indoor Here are a couple of pictures of “indoor units” installed in customer homes. As you can see, the indoor unit is mounted near the ceiling. mini split in home mini split home stock Inside the unit is a fan and a set of self-adjusting louvers. The louvers can be configured by the remote control to sweep back and forth and up and down, or point the cool air in a specific direction or directions. The louver directions are easily set with the remote control. We love our mini-splits because they are quieter than the industrial-strength fans we used to have, and they provide near instantaneous cooling. When the unit is off, the louvers close, making the unit look even sleeker. In this photo, the louvers are closed almost all the way: indoor unit closed The indoor unit is connected to the outdoor unit by two insulated refrigerant pipes and a power line. We only have to drill a 3″ hole through the wall to run the pipes and wire. And, of course, the hole is behind the indoor unit and made weather tight from the outside....See MoreSun room do over
Comments (5)I cannot tell your complete floor plan based upon the photo. If this is the only way to place your couch, table and chairs, I would recommend the following: Editing some of the items would be a start. The room has too much in it and is not balanced. The desk is really nice, could this be used as your bar, and therefore remove the wire shelving unit? If need be for protection add a plexi or glass top. Would the small table thing in the left corner work as a table between the chairs? Or using the table I can see on the bottom right. The garden stool is fine, I’d moved it to the other side of your couch. I’m personally not crazy about the tall corner cabinet or small tall table with the statue on it near the couch in a sunroom. You also may consider a larger coffee table that isn’t as fancy for a sunroom. I would paint all the walls, including the wood wall, the same color, a creamy white, and the wood ceiling haint blue. The fan maybe too small and dark for the room. Do you need a fan? Could this be switched out to something more fun? You also should consider adding table lamps and a floor lamp. Your floor looks like a dark grey, it needs a rug. Sisal rugs work well in sunrooms, this may soften the grey. Or if you are bold, a Persian type rug. You stated the wicker must stay, and the cushions look like they are in good condition, so add some patterned pillows with color and a couple throws. Turquoise is very complimentary of dark brown for an accent color. Your art is too high, and too small for that area. A huge canvas with tons of color would be better. Just my thoughts, big picture is this is a sunroom and your current accessory furniture, although lovely, seems too fancy for this type of space....See MoreWhat's an attractive sun room storage solution?
Comments (12)Thank you all so much!! I'm already loving your suggestions. Also, I should have clarified: that light colored couch IS on its way out - it's just hanging out here until someone buys it. So that will actually be another issue I'll have once it's gone - coming up with some kind of toy storage to go along that wall (or just figuring out what to do with that wall). I love the idea of an outside storage for things we don't "need" inside but that we do need on our way back. On the other side of the window is our kitchen and the space that used to be the living room but will now be our dining area. Here is a (not great) picture of it. You can see the sectional used to be here but it's a loooong story and we moved it to the sun room because it doesn't fit. The purpose of the sun room is officially: living room! The mudroom aspect isn't ideal, but borne more of necessity since that's our access to the backyard and we have to keep our shoes (at the very least) somewhere. Another clarification: that door is just for getting to the backyard (which is a many times a day occurrence). We generally go in and out for out-of-the-house-errands through the garage, which is in another part of the house. Kids number only 2, which is by no means a lot, but animals right now are 19 and counting! I agree that this arrangement is by no means ideal. We came to it after many many months of struggling with even worse layouts/making the furniture we have work as best we can in (what I find) an awkwardly laid out downstairs. Thank you all for your help!...See MoreBeth H. :
