Living Room Accent Wall
Comments (5)Thanks so much for the input thus far! I have attached 3 pics of my family room/kitchen area. The first 2 are from before we moved in but it shows the space and the last is current. Don't mind the clutter ;-) Also, the furniture is transitioning out as I put the room together. I'm not generally a fan of accent walls but I am in LOVE with this room. I really want to recreate it. I think doing a dark color on all of the walls would be too much for me. Additionally the left wall runs up the stairs to the second floor, so I plan to carry whatever color is on that wall the whole way up. I put several Sherwin Williams colors on the wall today. I liked the Bitter Chocolate but my husband isn't a fan (haven't decided if he gets input or not yet ;-)) and another we liked was Folkstone. I feel the Folkstone is a little too gray and not enough chocolate....See MoreColour for living room accent wall
Comments (2)Honestly I would just save the money for your house. Do your photos but just leave the wall. Most landlords will ask you to repaint it anyway before you get your deposit back....See MoreHelp with accent wall paint color in living room!
Comments (5)No accent walls, please. They are for people who can't pick art, and/or who don't know how to choose colors which which to accessorize pillows, rugs, objets d'art, etc. The sofa, chair and bench in your photo are fine, but the throw pillow covers are a serious snooze. And please re-think gray as an accent color, it is neither cheerful nor hospitable. If you like ecru. you can have pillow covers in that color with a lot of texture, something along the lines of a cable knit, like an aran sweater. Williams-Sonoma has marvelous throw pillows to give you some inspiration. Look how great those plants look in the photo, green would make a great accent color, and you can add touches of black to ground the room and add sophistication and drama. You can have a black tray on a table, some black and green in art....See MoreAgonizing over accent wall color- paint the whole room color? Ah! Lol
Comments (17)@Beverly Thanks for much! And everyone for commenting! I was thinking of these colored sheets, then contrasted with the green walls; Then staggered shelves above the bed, with on them plants, maybe pops of yellow flowers, and a nice piece of art. I really love the Green/Caramel/Yellow combos.. feels rustic and earthy. One issue is though, that back wall is quite large and I not find a headboard that doesn't make it feel like its being consumed by the wall I was thinking of these Vant panels, in "rust" however that would clash with the color bedding, I think....See MoreYayagal
