It looks like a nice space! Do you have any inspiration pictures of rooms you like? I think paint all walls the same color; no accent wall.

Instead of caramel, think taupe or mushroom; those colors are more modern.

Or here's a nice green mixed with rust/brown/mustard like what you mentioned.

Yes I do- originally I was going to do a wood panel accent wall, but that seems like too much of a project at the moment.

I really like these;

I love the darker greener greens. That room is really nice and airy with those great windows. It won't be dark. It might be snuggly after dark, but not gloomy.

PICK YOUR BEDDING FIRST!! Then decide if your walls require a color. I cannot stress this enough. You are agonizing about what color but you have no direction or inspiration. Paint colors are infinite, and bedding that you like and is in your budget is finite.

Center your bed on the ceiling peak and select large nightstands or chests for either side of the bed.

I agree about choosing the bedding as jumping off point.

This room is very large and it can certainly handle dark color if you so choose.

I have done a lot of research and study of color psychology and green is not a color generally associated with depression. Green is the color of growth and renewal. It gives us balance between emotion and thought.

Long before studying psychology of color I listened to my mother. She taught us to look at nature to understand how to make colors work together and how color combinations will make you feel. Green is mother nature's favorite color.

We see more shades of green than any other color.

Don't be afraid to use green.

I like the green you’ve chosen. Rich, earthy, soothing. I personally would use it all over because I don’t care for accent walls. Have fun!

I agree with Beverly about bedding selection first. Then rug then paint. If you like those green room photos you posted then stick with bedding and rugs EXACTLY like those rooms. But still purchase the bedding and rug first and then select your paint (however I find the one with the istock logos on it very off - that grey rug just doesn’t work).

I was thinking of these colored sheets, then contrasted with the green walls;

Then staggered shelves above the bed, with on them plants, maybe pops of yellow flowers, and a nice piece of art.

I really love the Green/Caramel/Yellow combos.. feels rustic and earthy.

One issue is though, that back wall is quite large and I not find a headboard that doesn't make it feel like its being consumed by the wall

I think the rust looks nice with the green. Either bed or bedding though, not both. That bed you found is awesome and would look good with white linen bedding. We’re painting my son’s room green so I’ve been mocking it up trying to decide on all the pieces. Here’s what I came up with. The paint color is BM Sweet Basil at 50%.

Why dose the bedding have to match the bedroom !?

Snaggy the bedding doesn't have to match the bedroom. But there is no sense in picking a random color for the walls and then finding bedding and discovering that the two colors don't work together.

It might be time to see exactly how the bed looks in the room once it's placed on top of an area rug. I tried to find rugs that had green so you could see how they look in the room. Frankly, I can't wrap my head around emerald green paint with this bed. These examples should help you decide what you like and what you don't like.
